2024-06-01 14:16:26 +0000 UTCI assumed they did some sort of performance capture as well but all of the character stuff is hand animated with reference, mostly from the animators and other staff themselves; just like in the olden days with 2D animation. On top of that many of the effects are also hand drawn 2D. As as I have said, too many times, because I am nerd, check the "Arcane: Bridging the Rift" documentary on YT.
