FIRST TIME WATCHING The Three Musketeers (2023)

Comments

Never saw this before, but I loved it!! So beautifully filmed, great acting and a classic exciting story. What more can you ask for in a movie? Love, love, love!

Dorinda Schaper

Let's gooooooo! I have been so excited for this since it was announced

I, honestly, never knew the tale of the the Three Musketeers. I have studied French for many years and knew of the tale but not what it was about. Oddly enough, I did know some historical clues from a film called "La Riene Margot." Which, was also a Dumas adaptation. Thank you for sharing! I loved it. IF you want any sort of suggestion as to what series to start next, I'd love to see you do Penny Dreadful. So good and dark and twisted and Eva is the star.

Thank you for this! Great reaction. It was my first fiction book (ever) which opened up an endless world beyond and instilled in me forever love for reading. AND of course I’ve watched all the movies/ TV series adaptations there are, but my favorite will always remain “D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers” - a three-part swashbuckler musical miniseries (in Russian) produced in the Soviet Union and first aired in 1978. I still re-watch it time to time and singalong 😂 P.s. Eva Green is fantastic everywhere.. esp. in Penny Dreadful ( a horror drama tv series) .. very in season rn)).. Also in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For a 2014 American action crime anthology film and follow-up to the 2005 film Sin City (tbh the whole cast is insane in both films)

I never seen this one but the Classic (My classic 1993) is the best because I grew up with it lol If you havent seen it you should watch it.

With all due respect, 1973's "The Three Musketeers" and 1974's "The Four Musketeers" are the best movies telling Alexandre Dumas' story. Both are directed by Richard Lester and star Michael York as D'Artagnan, Oliver Reed as Athos, Richard Chamberlain as Aramis, and Frank Finlay as Porthos. Add in Christopher Lee as Rochefort, Faye Dunaway as Milady DeWinter, and Charlton Heston as Cardinal Richelieu, and it adds up to the most stacked cast in the telling of the story.
