kane is right , the rule must bend for everyone in camp , rules are harsh and cruel but there is must law to follow by

Can't have people just doing whatever they want because they disagree with the leadership, however this is not the Ark and the rules should be different down here. Something to keep in mind though is that the people of the Ark, their parents, and grandparents lived like that for nearly 100 years. Probably hard to change your ways without some moral dilemmas along the way. It seems like Kane did decide that they need to adapt, I'm excited (and nervous) for what he and the Ark survivors do next. When does the next episode drop?

(Not to mention that possibly incapacitating your primary & best doctor is really stupid.) Which is why he gives Abby the Chancellorship in the end... so he can go and try to broker peace. Because their old ways are not the way to continue.

Their survival is so vulnerable right now and if they allow people to undermine their authority it could quickly descend into chaos and put every single one of their lives at risk.

2023-09-05 17:38:38 +0000 UTCInteresting that you say you didn’t see much marketing for this show, it’s definitely a low key show in the UK. I think it was broadcast quite a lot later than the US on E4, and it wasn’t well advertised at all. It was one where if you stumbled on it you enjoyed it, but it didn’t have the hype it deserved.

2023-09-05 16:47:19 +0000 UTCI’m so glad we’re on Season 2 now!! For me, this is the season where I really got invested in the show. Almost this entire season makes you want to binge it after the end of each episode. I am totally with you two…seems so unnecessary to revert to torture tactics when they could try to restart on the ground, finding new ways that don’t have to mimic what they did when in space. Torture in real life doesn’t work anyway. Only works mostly in film & TV shows 😂 But in real life, it’s just barbaric without much positive outcomes, more so forcing people to lie and so it backfires on everyone. And it’s obviously a major human rights violation. Why can’t we move on to more productive, helpful ways to gain info? Idk. But I really love the complicated dynamics here with Abby & Marcus. And I love that you two notice those complex dynamics and appreciate them.

2023-09-05 04:32:01 +0000 UTCI feel like Grounders always get a bad rap. And I just don't see them as the bad guys. They get faulted a lot for 'starting it'. But I think those visceral judgements come from not seeing the story (so far) thru the grounders eyes. How it has all appeared and affected them since The 101 came down onto their land. Much like how Finn & Co are behaving now. In their view, the grounders are to blame for their missing friends... and so now they are aggressively striking back accordingly. They absolutely have reason to see it this way... just as the grounders had reason to see it the way they have. But both sides are just reacting thru their own lens, on only half of a story.
