The first one is iconic you're in for a treat, please rob and trin if u can continue the franchise, u won't regret it. Thanks again guys!

2023-08-29 12:56:30 +0000 UTCThere are 7 movies to complete the story, and then 2 more attempts to revive the series. Part 10 comes to theaters in October. If you two can get past the gore factor (it gets much worse), I think you’ll find that series is right up your alleys. Unlike most other horror series, there is a storyline for this.

Like Hunter Robinson said, the series does go off the rails later (I remember #2 to be pretty good too). Good times, thank you both!

2023-08-27 20:30:51 +0000 UTCSaw gave birth to the torture porn era of horror (or at least its sequels), despite it not actually being that gory the word of mouth descriptions of what happens always make people think its a lot bloodier and gorier than it actually is. The Walking Dead and the Boys have more gore at times honestly. The first two installments are genuinely great storytelling, things go a little off the rails after that, but I think saw films are always a bloody good time (pun intended). And the score is iconic, the "Hello Zep" that plays at the very end is truly a great score to emphasize the climax

Saw gets a bad rap with many calling it "torture porn," but it's actually much more psychological. The sequels unfortunately don't live up to this one. They become more about the blood, gore, and torture. Now that you guys mentioned Scream I'm super excited to see reactions for 5 and 6!

2023-08-27 08:34:53 +0000 UTCI’m so glad you enjoyed this movie. People are always saying that it is a gore fest, but the first couple of movies are not really like that. The movies get more bloody as the series goes on, but there is actually a very intriguing storyline to follow. This movie came out in 2004 (the same year as Lost season 1), so there was no Ben Linus at the time. Watching it for the first time, Zep was surely sus, but I feel like these days many people suspect Zep immediately in his first scene just because of the Ben Linus effect. LOL Like someone else mentioned, Leigh Whannell who plays Adam wrote the screenplay with the director James Wan. Since then, they have made so many great horror movies like Dead Silence, the Conjuring and Insidious. Their solo works like the Invisible Man, Upgrade and Malignant are also pretty good. It would be awesome to watch some of these movies around Halloween with you guys. Perhaps you could do a horror movie poll for October? That would be amazing.

As a horror fan, I do love this franchise, mostly because of Jigsaw and his quiet yet utterly disturbing and messed up ways. I think every horror franchise tries to set themselves apart from the rest and to me, Saw definitely did that and it's one of the reasons I think it's worth watching.

2023-08-27 05:40:34 +0000 UTCI completely agree with you, many people who said these movies are only a gore fest are too focused on the gore or didn't watch them, there's a lot more behind and many stories are interesting (I think one of my favorites is with the insurance guy). But with social media it became pretty common for people to judge somthing without actually seeing it, or having a preconceived idea because they've hear so much about it.

They have great stories and yes they do get a little bit more violent but it does create a better reaction and may get u guys more viewers etc. I seen channels boost because of this series. Alot of people complain about this series because they don't even watch it and just assume it's only gore. There is a major interesting story in all 7 films people are just too disturbed or they watch those everything wrong with... YouTube videos. I spoke to a crap load of ppl who trash Saw and they don't know the story so u will get alot of negative comments about this franchise but 1-7 complete the series. There are others but they are made by different ppl entirely but I would love for you guys to watch all 7 maybe make it a Halloween thing or something.. loved the reaction because everyone basically has the same reaction but with their own individual interpretation but LOVED the reaction

2023-08-27 05:07:47 +0000 UTCThe guy that played Adam wrote the movie. EDIT: Also, there are '7' saw movies, then JIGSAW, and a spinoff, SPIRAL. SAW X, the 10th in the franchise comes out this year. AS FOR THE GORE... Saw 1 is the tamest, but it definitely steps up in SAW 3. If you guys decide to continue watching the movies, the general consensus is that the first 3 are the best.

The ending hadn't been spoiled either, so it was a total shocker to everyone. You should definitely stick around for the sequels. This story goes much deeper.

Thankfully the gore was mostly implied and the plot had me guessing the whole way through. I'm not going to say it was my favorite movie this month, but it was very enjoyable and I'm glad I gave it a chance. Thank you Rob and Trin for expressing your apprehensions for watching this movie at the start. It made feel like I wasn't alone. And again thank you to those who voted for this, I probably would have never watched this otherwise.
