2023-07-24 19:56:15 +0000 UTCThe show as a whole was a little disjointed and I think lacked a little focus, but I enjoyed it quite a lot upon first watch. I couldn't understand the backlash from fans it got when it first came out. It's not the best MCU show, but it's still thoroughly enjoyable. I think as we've all collectively come down from the MCU hype in the immediate aftermath of Endgame, people are realizing that the content right then was better than they realized.

2023-07-24 14:39:43 +0000 UTCOh, Daredevil is MCU canon at this point, so I wouldn't say it's questionable (well, some of the details are, but Charlie Cox is definitively the MCU's Daredevil). And you're spot on: Charlie Cox and D'Onofrio are spectacular in that show. I also think that, minimally, the first season of Daredevil should be up next on the docket, especially before Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Hawkeye series.

Sadly, this is often the way of life here (and probably elsewhere). Hopefully you're seeing how this imbalance is a major theme of the series.

Before Disney+, there was a slew of Netflix shows that came out after the first Avengers that focussed more on the sort of "street heroes" (our earthly Marvel characters), kinda like FATWS or a Spiderman movie. Daredevil is considered by many to be Marvel's best tv/film output ever, it's canonicity to the MCU may be questionable now but, even without the character potentially being a big future player I think its a show that should def be experienced by everyone, due to it being legitimately great even aside from the superhero genre. I know your slate is kinda insane and probably planned out well in advance, and as a watcher of your Walking Dead content also I wouldn't want y'all to stress yourselves out trying to please everyone! But if you're still interested after catching up with the MCU, or have another slot free up and are willing to give at least S1 a go, I think there's a real gem for you to fall in love with there. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are masterful performers!!

(I also love that Sebastian is super shy/quiet IRL and Anthony, who is hilariously gregarious, seems to always keep him comfortable.) Love them!! ❤️

2023-07-24 02:14:58 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite things is the number of people I've seen notice him in this show, have no idea who he is or even that Kurt Russell has a son at all, and immediately go "dude is that Kurt Russell's kid" because of how much he looks like his dad.

2023-07-23 23:32:50 +0000 UTCSam and Bucky have one of my favorite dynamics in the MCU lol even back in Civil War they had this "frenemies" vibe and the back and forth is always really fun to watch. Their only connection before this was Steve so now they have to work without him ans it's just...really entertaining lol Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are friends irl so some of that humor they have tends to really shine especially in their more improv scenes. John Walker definitely means well and it sucks to see that Lemar and him keep butting heads with Sam and Bucky, but at the same time I totally understand how they want nothing to do with him. It's a tough situation. In regards to him not being a free agent, I think Sam and Bucky have that freedom because they're Avengers and fought Thanos, but John was appointed Captain America by the government so it makes sense that he's a little more tied down legally.
