First Time Watching Captain America: Civil War (2016) Reaction!

Comments

I love Bucky. So goddamn much. And I don't want anything bad happening to him. I also love Tony. It's almost never black and white. It shouldn't be. I completely understand the grief and the rage. But don't hurt my Bucky. 🤣 It's not his fault.

Ninaofthe90s

The fight between Ironman and Hulk was in Johannesburg not Wakanda.

Aaron

Hey, I can amend my comment but Im not sure which part is a spoiler. Which part did you feel was a spoiler? The only XMen info I gave is specifically from the comics which was to show why he was a beloved character. Are you referring to his marriage in the comics? I don't really consider this a spoiler, which is why I wrote it, since the X Men have no bearing on the current MCU specifically that part. And it wasn't me going off randomly, it's a portion of his comic lore which makes people hype about his charector, which goes with the theme of my post I feel. If you're referring to a different part please let me know, that was just the only part I could think you may be talking about.

Quiana Henderson

Hey btw your kinda spoiling some things here. Let them discover this stuff on their own you just change the subject and start talking about X-Men spoilers.

Ty linn

If star wars cannonically exists in the MCU, then what's with Nick Fury?😅

Locustki11er01

They have some time for that buy I agree they should watch it soon

Locustki11er01

This was a complex movie and like Trin said it had many shades of gray. As I stated before I didn't catch many of the MCU movies when they were being released. After watching phase one is kinda where I stopped as I was in nursing school and minoring in Radiology I couldn't fit a lot in and the students I hung out with weren't big into these films. My friends back in my hometown are about 5 years older than I am and were actually big into the comics and they told me that in the comics these movies are the linear story of the formation of the Avengers. The comics would have side adventures where they would pair unique characters together to do exciting side missions. Disney + has a lot of interesting shows both series and one offs. I watched Agent Carter which was a 20 minute show on how Peggy started S.H.E.I.L.D. It was very well done. I am glad to be on this journey with you guys!

Anthony Ancona

In the comics Black Widow is a super soldier… kinda. In the movies, she has absolutely NO superpowers.

Timmy Madrigal

The movie Black Panther was supposed to be before this movie. But it was delayed for marketing reasons so they wedged in scenes to fit. I do think this is one of the more interesting stories of the series.

Sean Murphy

Up until this movie Tony Stark was my favorite MCU character. He quickly became my least favorite character. He still hasn't matured, he doesn't want to take responsibility or accept that sometimes bad things happen to good people and you won't be able to stop that. So he clings on to the Sakovia Accords and government oversight because he can say, "look it wasn't me, they told me to do this." and trusting in the government? You can't trust the government with anything.

King Henry Beauclerc

For me, not counting the Avengers movies in Phase 3... the Cap trilogy are truly the best done set of movies in the MCU. I believe that Cap is absolutely the heart & soul of the group.

Wendy Sparks

Black Panther was heavily marketed for a couple reasons. One, the film had a major impact on the Black community. Both for African Americans, and from what I've seen, also to Africans. I don't know about everywhere else, though I'm sure it was still a phenomenon, but it was the first Black superhero movie from a major company with a major budget that showed and celebrated being Black. We don't get too many of those, especially not fantasy or sci-fi movies. Black Panther is a beloved comic hero. In the comics he is the smartest man on the plant, rivaled during his time, only by Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. He's also married to Storm from the X-Men. Which, by the way, itd be a good idea to watch both movies. They're not technically a part of the MCU yet, but there is much speculation on when they will be added. Honestly, for Fantastic Four, I would only watch the two with Chris Evans and Jessica Alba, not the more recent one. But be aware, most people don't consider them "great" movies, but still worth a watch so you're not completely lost if/when they do show up I'm the MCU. Same with Blade, Andrew Garfield's Spiderman, and X-Men, if you havent seen them. I'm sure someone has told you this stuff before, but just in case. Also, Vibranium, the metal that Caps sheild is made of is from Wakanda. That is the only place we are aware of vibranium being. We thought Cap's shield there was, but Vision is living proof that's not true. Great reaction guys, I really enjoyed it!

Quiana Henderson

It must be the light cause was no black eyes 😂

Is Rob sporting a black eye or just tired? This one is amazing....UNDEROOS! ....and they only get better from now on. When he's in Peter's room and he says "I'm gonna sit here so you move away", that was real, he was supposed to move along the bed and forgot. You didn't see Spider-Man in the Marvel movies because Marvel/Disney doesn't have the rights to make his movies, Sony does and it took AGES for them to get together around the table, they've been messing about with rights ever since (I think it's pretty much 50/50 now but Sony still aren't happy) but there's a whole ecosystem in the Spider-Man movies too so there's other stuff planned around the Spider-Man characters.

PsYcHoKiLLa

I love this movie so much ❤ And loved your reaction

Dude

This movie is basically Avengers 2.5 minus Thor and the Hulk. The conflict in this one is so grounded and interesting to the point that I had trouble picking a side. Sometimes watching these movies, it's easy to forget how many people actually die or are hurt when the fighting happens. I like that it addresses that.

Joshua Markham

To me, Tony is a major hypocrite in this film.... he lost his parents and is on a path to make the one man, who wasn't even consciously responsible, pay for his actions..... but he creates an AI called Ultron that destroys an entire city in Sokovia killing thousands, releases the Hulk onto Wakanda in a rampage after Wanda messes with his mind... and he doesn't see himself as culpable in the same way as he is holding Bucky.

Keith Duperreault

Regarding the Accords I’m not on either side. There should’ve been a different agreement that they came to that was more flexible. Regarding Bucky, I’m on Caps side. Even if it were my parents that were killed I’d be on Caps side because I’m a big advocate for forgiveness, understanding (it wasn’t Bucky), and that vengeance belongs to the Lord.

Leah B

Please react to Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s not a part of the MCU, but it’s worth a watch. It even won an Oscar for best animated film for the year it came out.

Leah B

LOVED THE REACTION!!! Team Cap always! With the understanding that anyone would have reacted the same way Tony did. Bucky is one of the more tortured characters in the MCU. Poor guy has had it rough, to say the least. I love that Rob kept reiterating that Bucky was a hero right from the start. He was not only an American war hero, he was Steve’s hero. Bucky was a dashing, strong ladies man who liked to dance and had his sights set on the future. A man who already stood up and protected the little guy and always had Steve’s back. And when little guy Steve no longer needed his protection, and Peggy only had eyes for Steve, Bucky didn’t get jealous or spiteful. He stood up with his friend and fought to save the world from those that would seek to destroy it, and in the end “Barnes is the only Howling Commando to give his life in service of his country.” -Gary Sinise CA:The Winter Soldier

CheshireKat528

Yea I was like huh? Lol

james moore

This one of the best movies in the Marvel Universe

james moore

My thoughts exactly with Rhodey. So it's okay for Sam to take that blast and fall out of the sky? He didn't mean for it to hit Rhodey, he was trying just trying to avoid it

Maggie Barbour

I'm on Cap's side... all day long. I get Tony's reaction about his parents, but that's not the main contention. Which is Tony letting his guilt... I mean Ultron was mostly on him... and fear from his vision... to push for hamstringing everyone. Their argument simply doesn't hold up. If they did nothing in NY, we'd be over. If they did nothing in Sokovia, we'd be over. Many, many more would die if the bad guys succeed. So, as far as I'm concerned... Tony forced this situation. And no way was it Sam's fault for ducking Vision's blast. Should he have let it hit him and fall out of the sky himself? He was just evading like everyone else. He had no way of knowing that it would take down Rhodey. Tony was petty to blast him... when Sam was just as concerned over Rhodey. Anyway, this is a Captain America movie because he's the focal point... continuing his themes of freedom, loyalty, politics, still being a man out of time, and friendships.

Wendy Sparks

I am 100% team Cap when it comes to the accords but I´M SO GLAD you guys understand Tony when it comes to his parents. Of course Bucky did not mean it but if I see a person graphically killing my parents after I thought they died in a car crash, and that person is next to me, it´s not easy to be like "Oh well, he didn´t mean it", everyone would get angry. I would have loved if in the final scene Tony had the opportunity to kill Bucky but decides to spare him but at the end of the day it was a Captain America movie so he had to win. (Can we also appreciate that Tony gave a good fight to TWO SUPER SOLDIERS. Just sayin)

Bassorelli Chiara

So thing is legal precedent Bucky is guilty. Even if you arnt in total control of your mental facilities your responsible for physical crimes. Even if drunk, high, have a mental condition like DIDs where you arnt even yourself at all but a mental alter, insanity, devil made me do it, ect. The overall precedent is that we can't allow people to commit crimes then not be held responsible despite how well mentally they were. They get some form of punishment or put away in a facility for a time.

PKKite

I suggest you should watch amazing spider man before watching spider man with Tom Holland

Tomek Wojtkiewicz

I’m glad you were able to understand Tony’s views even though I was also team Cap. Still very hyped for you to see the Guardians again.

Luke Fitton

There was a drawn out legal issue regarding Spider-Man, while Marvel owns the character, the movie rights were owned by Sony, it took up until this movie to actually iron out a deal so they could use him in the MCU. Hence why he wasn't a part of the original Avengers line up.

Simon Watson

The press you are probably referring to around Black Panther is that the actor passed from cancer

Mel Issa

Love seeing you guys hooked to these movies. So happy to hear you're a fan of the Toby Spidey movies. looking forward for the coming weeks. Super hyped to see you guys watching Guardians Of The Galaxy two, it's clear you want to see them again

OnePlushyDude

Whoever told you Black Widow was more than human was incorrect. She, like Hawkeye, is at the peak level of human training... the top .000001% in their fields, but still very much human.

Keith Duperreault

as soon as i saw you started reacting to marvel...i was waiting for this movie to pop up...it just gets better and better from here <3

Leo Challoner

Me too, so excited!

Kale

It’s after 1am here and I have to get to sleep but I’m SO HYPED to watch this reaction! One of the absolute best of the MCU.

Ryan Skinner

Oh I've been waiting for this one :)

Amanda Logsdon

Yeeees! I love the MCU but rewatching with you both has been so fun! You both have such a huge positivity vibe and open minded approach when watching things that is so refreshing.

I am excited!
