Is it convenience in the sideways... or is it fate? Lost has always been revealing so many interconnections to us... even though unbeknownst to the characters. Where would Ben be if he didn't spend his life on the island, etc...? One of the things that makes Lost so amazing, so enduring is... it doesn't feel the need to spell out everything. For some bits... it gives us the pieces to turn around... and lets us put them together. Like with the pregnancy problem. Juliet delivers Ethan in 1977, no problem. Not long after, the Incident occurs... unleashing massive amounts of electromagnetism and radiation. Afterwards, island conceived pregnancies are unsustainable (on island). And after Ben becomes leader, he makes figuring it out a priority. But we viewers now have been given enough pieces, to draw conclusions. The magic of Lost... it's what we find in the journey.

When you said "Apparently Jacob is protecting the island from stuff and things" I nearly spit out my drink lmao 🤣. I don't know if you meant it as a reference to The Walking Dead but that's immediately where my mind went. I remember there being all kinds of memes about that back in the day. "I'M DOING STUFF LORI, THANGS" 😅
