I Have Tinnitus :(

Well, i went to the doctor this morning and..., i have tinnitus. you can see on the video what tinnitus is, my ringing it's pretty similar to the second guy on the video, it's basically a weird noise inside our ears, nobody knows why this happens, and there's no cure for it, the worst part is knowing you're not gonna live in complete silence ever again, no matter what you doing or where you are, the noise just never stops. and i was "lucky" enough to have an very low intense tinnitus, so pretty much i can handle it without a problem, but please bear with me if you see i'm more irritable than usual, i have to get used to my "new life".

the biggest problem is when it happens all of the sudden, without warning, that's the worst part

Hey! I'm a new Patron but was scrolling down to see this. I feel your pain, it just rings most of the time, but at intense times, it feels like a blaring roar in my left ear mostly. It tends to be so bad, it often acts up when I try to listen to music with Earbuds and Music is my Life! I hope it doesn't get so bad to the point of non-stop ringing and roaring. it seemed to pop up last year and it just got so bad so fast. Hang in there Lopez, I think us Tinnitus sufferers will get some kind of relief soon! ;-)

I developed it in 2016 and I've had it on and off since then. Mine seems to be a physical defect in my right ear and/or sinuses. Doctor isn't too sure. It took a while to get used to it, I sleep with rain noises (youtube them, there's tons, it'll improve your sleep quality) and needed sleep aids for a while. Like melatonin. Most people who have it often see it increase or decrease when they remove or add triggering factors. In my case, ibuprofen ramps it up hard, so I had to cut out ever using that. Good luck man, shit strikes artists really hard. I couldn't sketch or paint for a while after having it, so distracting. You will get accustomed in time, though, and it can fade away.

I guess I have it as well. I've lived my whole life with it and never thought anything about it, But yes I hear a high pitch ring in my right ear when it's quiet. I just thought it was normal so I didn't really think to much about it. by now it doesn't even bother me since I thought it was a normal thing to hear in silents. I didn't even think it had a name until now truthfully. you'll get use to it and soon not even notice that it's there. leave a fan or the ac on, something that makes noise will tune it out. But if I were to guess how it happened...Rock concerts, heavy and loud Rock concerts

Ramuzik

yeah, tinnitus is a pain in the arse. i've had it for YEARS and its just annoying.

I'm sorry you have tinnitus but the good news is you're not deaf but i really hope you adjust quickly friend.

you'd be surprised how common that is, i have it its simply jsut tuning it out with other white noise, i iether have a fan on or tell my echo dot to play "thunderstorm sounds" very soothing raining noises helps me sleep. you only really notice it when its competely quiet around you.

TheGeckoNinja

let's see what i can do

Stuntman Shocking Lopez

i think those are the hardest to get used to it

Well, yeah. Got the same one as No. 2 too, but as I said before, I am living with it for years now, on both sides and you just cope with it after some time. If you can't sleep at night, get yourself a fan, the blowing noise will distract you from the tinnitus. It's how I managed it at the beginning.

Mine is closer to the last one but more crackling when people are talking and it so far only happens in my left ear.

Angelo B.

Just tune it out, bro. I usually forget even hearing a ringing noise. You get used to it.

ChaosMaster12

any recommendation to dealing with it?

Stuntman Shocking Lopez

I can sympathize, I have it myself.
