The "Old Rig" (Boring Tech Babble Inside)
Added 2017-12-29 15:33:37 +0000 UTCOk, first post using my "old rig", and yes it's old, but much more powerful than my new laptop.
Ok the CPU is older, (an 4th generation i7), while the laptop is an 7th gen. and both have the same amount of RAM, 16Gb DDR4.
But now is when the old rig beats the new laptop, the GPU is much more powerful, is the famous Nvidia GTX 1080 (normal version, not the Ti), while the laptop is just an GTX 1050, the 1080 not only allows me to play DOOM 60Fps, but also Source Filmmaker runs much more smoother, and i can add more elements on screen with less lag, and render video a bit more faster.
The Hard Drive is even much more better, the laptop has an PCIe x16 SSD drive, which is INSANELY FAST!!, just push the button and Windows 10 its already running, but... its just 256Gb, that means all my files has to be storage on the secondary HDD, a normal and painfully slow Sata Hard Disk.
But my old rig has an Sata SSD drive, is less faster than the PCIe Drive, but still much more faster tant a normal HDD, and it is a 1Tb, instead 256Gb, that means i can have all my files storaged on the faster drive.
And now i'm gonna move a few projects to the old rig, and see if it improves my work, but i'm gonna keep both computers updated, because the only thing better than a backup Hard Drive, it's having an entire back up rig.
