Chapter 64: The First Evacuation

As dusk approached, the sky darkened.

Stepping through the last traces of sunset, Adriel and his wife returned from the outdoors, dust-covered and weary. Upon entering their home, they saw Xavier sitting in the living room, engrossed in his electronic reader, scrolling through the latest news from Planet Vegeta.

Adriel approached with a gentle smile, saying, "Xavier, we've made contact with a group of Saiyans. They've agreed to gather in the desert two thousand kilometers west in two days. How are things on your end?"

"Two days from now?" Xavier set down his reader, pondering for a moment. "The inhabitants of Planet Phydia have started constructing a living zone on Planet Red Mountain. It should be ready in two days."

"Then we'll start the first evacuation in two days," Adriel declared, a hint of excitement in his voice. Given the increasingly unclear situation on Planet Vegeta, he decided it was best to act swiftly and start relocating some of the Saiyans sooner rather than later.

Xavier nodded in agreement. "Alright, I'll make sure everything's prepared on Planet Red Mountain."

"Hey, where's Celine?" Rebecca inquired, noticing her absence. Normally, the young girl would have dashed out to greet them by now.

"She's been training hard and just went to sleep exhausted," Xavier explained with a soft smile, while he straightened several cups on the coffee table and filled them with water.

Rebecca frowned slightly. "She needs to take it easy. What if she hurts herself?"

As a high-ranking warrior, she understood that training must be balanced. Overexertion could lead to irreparable damage, like a spring pressed too tightly and losing its ability to rebound.

Adriel, however, admired his daughter's tenacity. "It's good that Celine is so driven. She's improving rapidly—how many Saiyans can match her progress? Let her be, Rebecca."

Rebecca shot Adriel a sharp look, as if questioning whether Celine was indeed his daughter. She then advised Xavier to keep a closer eye on Celine, to which he readily agreed.

The conversation felt oddly misplaced—it was as if they were entrusting Xavier with their daughter's upbringing, despite being her parents themselves.

That night, the kitchen was bustling.

The stove blazed as delicious aromas wafted from it. Rebecca had prepared a feast fit for the voracious appetite of Saiyans, a crucial aspect of their logistics, especially during large-scale operations.

"Xavier, dinner's ready. Go call Celine," Rebecca said as she placed a large dish on the table.

"Right away!" Xavier responded, putting aside his tasks and heading to Celine's room.

He knocked gently. Inside, Celine lay askew in bed, her white underwear and the soft flesh of her thighs exposed, one foot pressing the blanket against the mattress.

It seemed she was cuddling a large pillow in an indolent pose.

Xavier chuckled and walked over to her bedside. Tapping her gently on the face, he woke her, "Aunt Rebecca sent me to call you for dinner."

"Oh, leave for a moment. I need to change," Celine opened her eyes, briefly fixing them on Xavier before wrapping herself in the blanket, her tone nonchalant.

Xavier clicked his tongue, smiling, "What are you hiding? I've already seen everything when I helped you bathe before. Covering up now really does no good!"

Celine paused, then rolled her eyes, no longer wrapping herself tightly. She threw the entire blanket at Xavier, shouting, "I'm changing now, get out!"

Laughing heartily, Xavier caught the blanket and neatly placed it aside. "Alright, alright. You're growing up, not clinging to me like before. I'll step out. Change quickly!"

With that, he left the room, gently closing the door behind him.

At dinner, while Xavier and the others devoured the food on the table, Celine alternated between staring at Xavier and voraciously eating, her actions providing an amusing contrast.

……

Time flew swiftly, and two days later, on the desolate Gobi in the west side of Planet Vegeta, some two thousand kilometers away, the harsh sun of spring cast its scorching rays, making even the light touch feel fiercely hot.

It was noon now, and in the midst of a sweltering oasis, over a hundred Saiyans from all directions had already gathered. From the horizon, dark specks periodically flew in, swelling their numbers to over two hundred in the oasis.

These Saiyans, young and old, mostly came in family units, predominantly lower-class warriors with only a few mid-class fighters among them. Selected meticulously by Adriel's squad, their combat strengths ranged generally between two thousand to three thousand—a rather ordinary batch among the million Saiyans of Planet Vegeta, whose absence wouldn't cause much of a stir.

Adriel checked the headcount, and seeing that all the designated individuals had arrived, stepped forward and clapped his hands.

The scene quieted instantly as everyone waited for Adriel to give orders. Under the shade of green trees, Xavier watched this and thought to himself how high Adriel's prestige was among these people.

It wasn’t a bad thing; at least it showed there was someone who could keep these unruly Saiyans in line without needing to exert extra effort.

"All the first group has assembled," Adriel began. "I believe you all understand what we're up against. We are not fleeing; we are preserving the bloodline of the Saiyans. A day will come when we return to reclaim our home."

After rallying everyone with a few words, Adriel turned to Xavier and said, "How many can you take at once? Should we make several trips?"

"No need. I can teleport over a hundred people at a time. Let's get everyone to the first transit star," replied Xavier with a serious expression, striding confidently towards the group.

Nodding slightly, Adriel, knowing Xavier's reliability, didn't add more. He then addressed the gathered Saiyans: "Everyone, Xavier is about to use his Instant Transmission. Please join hands and form a circle."

"A circle, really?"

The Saiyans were skeptical but trusting in Adriel's leadership, they began to arrange themselves as instructed.

Soon, the crowd of over two hundred formed two large circles, looking rather comical, like children playing a game.

Xavier nodded, stepped forward to one of the groups, and with everyone watching in amazement, his pupils glowed with a deep blue light.

In a flash of swirling dust, the hundred or so people in the circle vanished.

"They're gone, just like that!"

"His psychic powers can make so many people disappear!"

The scene turned chaotic as the remaining hundred Saiyans looked at each other, and a buzz of discussion erupted among them.
