Updates, what I'm working on, future stuff, Patreon changes, Bits!

Hey everyone! I’d like to share some updates regarding the KayKit assets :)

Earlier his year we transitioned to a new style of assets, textured and more low-poly optimised, and a new style of characters; fully animated and with legs! Both have been received very well by mostly everyone so I’m really happy to carry on in this style.

The next stuff that I have planned is to remaster both the Skeleton Characters to the new style, as well as update and remaster the Medieval Builder Pack (hex tiles) to the new style. These will take me quite a while as the medieval builder pack is quite large and the Skeletons will involve new animations (which I’m not super good at so it’ll take me longer 😅 ).

I don’t want to keep you waiting too long until I finish those, so in the meantime I’m introducing Bits!

Bits, will be small-ish packs of various assets within a certain genre or theme, not necessarily connected to existing packs (although they could be), just random bits really.

I'll be making these together with my wife so they are pretty quick to produce, so you get to play around with them and use them and you can let me know if you’d like to see more of these.

Patrons will receive these 2 weeks earlier than the itch.io releases.

I’ll be able to gauge interest based on itch downloads and donations and if they are received well I’ll either turn them into a bigger pack with Extra/Source content, or bundle them together with extra content.

I currently have 4 packs planned to release on Thursdays for the next 4 weeks, first up are the City Builder Bits, which will be released here tomorrow!

Next week there will be the Space Base Bits, and the week after that we’ll have some Furniture Bits. The fourth release will be revealed at a later point :)

A few other notes:

• The voting poll will be temporarily closed until I finish my current back log of planned asset packs, after that the poll will be updated and re-opened.
• The Discord is doing great! We have 250+ members, I try to take as many suggestions as I can and share work-in-progress assets as I work on them. If you’d like to join you can do so here : https://discord.gg/JC7HGnnUqH , there’s supporter roles as well if you have your Discord connected to Patreon.
• There's a new tier called 'Super Supporter' for people who wish to support more, in return you'll be credited as a Super Supporter within the asset licenses. And there's a Super Supporter discord role as well, additional benefits will be added in the future too.
• I’m making a couple of changes to the way the Monthly Mystery Character tier works, see below:

I’m making a couple of changes to the way the Monthly Mystery Character tier works;

Going forward the Monthly Mystery Characters will be bundled by series/years and older series will retire from the Monthly Mystery subscription tier.

Previous months of Mystery Characters;

Previous Mystery characters are divided into Series 1, 2 & 3 and are available as bundles in my Patreon Shop

Future months of Mystery Characters;

We’re currently 2 characters into (what is now called) Series 4 and there will be another 10 characters in this series before it retires after June of 2024, and we move on to Series 5 with a new set of 12 characters.

Don’t worry, if you subscribe mid-way during Series 4 you’ll still get access to all previous characters of Series 4, and every new character as long as you’re subscribed.

All new monthly characters will be available to find under the #MonthlyMysteryCharacter tag right here on Patreon, and also will be catalogued on my website : https://kaylousberg.com/patreon-characters for easier browsing :)
