Daniel's Back!!! ❤😃🙌

Sarah

This is the kind of Geeking out that Stargate deserves. Also, I would definitely suggest putting some kind of blocker (hand, card, book) over the credits at the beginning coz you never know who will show up and I think the first sight is always the best. I remember I used to block the first couple of minutes with a book 😆 Just so it didn't get spoiled.

C J

Been waiting for this one, such a great episode

MrEvers

Usually it's because they have no choice because of the way the contracts and agreements with actor's guild's are set up

Brendon Waldron

Sometimes they are good about putting major guest stars in the end credits. Still, it made for a great reaction moment.

Timothy Nikiforovs

I really really hate that credits in the begining of the show can have really serious spoilers in them like in this episode. It's the Day of the Doctor all over again. Why do creators of these shows do this?

Tomáš Polák

I really like Daniel to appear in this episode. The Dynamic of both sides (SGC and Ball's Outpost) was very good.

Fanny H.

well he said he needed to go do something. I feel like it's heavily implied he nudged Teal'c in the right direction

Timothy Nikiforovs

Great episode, loved your reaction, your scream when you saw Daniel made me laugh out loud. Love the enthusiasm. I guess you are into Stargate eh :p This was a great ep, didn't think we'd ever see Danny boy again, and here he is, in the flesh, err energy. What can I say that hasn't been said already. Daniel's and Jack's relationship is something special. Jack was nowhere near giving up and being ready to ascend. He was bound and determined to find another way, no way he could release his burdens at this point. So that wasn't happening, heh. I like to think it was Daniel who whispered something in Teal'cs ear, so to speak, while he was meditating. I think Daniel gave him the idea to do what they did. And Ba'al is such a great character, very menacing, I hope we see him again.

Brent Justice

I both dread and love this episode. Dread because my gut falls just thinking of what Jack goes through, not only during captivity but also after with the withdrawals and recovery. He's been through similar before when he was POW in Iraqi prison. But then comes the love part. I love the relationship between Jack and Daniel. You see hints of it throughout the show, but most times it almost feels like Jack is the outcast and the other three get along better. This episode shows me how deep Jack and Daniel's friendship really goes. After all, it was thanks to Daniel that Jack is still alive and willing to fight. I never noticed Jack's reference to "two l's" in this episode before. I think that also helps reference us back to the movie and the friendship built there.

Erin Ragsdale

This is definitely one of the best. Jack is so amazing during these scenes. It's always heartbreaking seeing him do his angry/dramatic speeches.

William Sevier

Yeah the SG community has been pretty good on spoilers of late. Same on most of the shows actually, but especially on SG1. And yeah I forgot to mention Yu in my review. I think with him being the last independent system lord who didn't align with Anubis, there's something of an "enemy of my enemy" situation. Yu and the SGC just aren't each other's biggest threats right now

Timothy Nikiforovs

yeah Brad Wright and Michael Greenburg

Timothy Nikiforovs

Some great episodes coming up in the next few weeks. It's gonna be Ba'als to the wall action

Timothy Nikiforovs

Excellent episode. Really a standout for the series and certainly one of S6s best. We all kind of lost it when Daniel showed up on our first viewings. Also can't believe we're almost 1/3 of the way through the season already. Ba'al you no doubt remember from his brief appearance in the 2 parter where the tok'ra got wrecked. Definitely stood out as one of the more charismatic, so it makes sense they'd bring him back. I like how he's using the carrot along with the stick, trying to get in O'Neill's head and play good cop and bad cop all at once. Apophis wouldn't have been nearly as subtle. Despite Daniel returning kind of stealing the show, RDA's performance here is rather noteworthy here as well. Cliff Simon too. As I understand it for many of their scenes they were actually talking to stand ins as they were filmed separately due to the whole gravity thing. So props to both for being able to act off of basically nothing. But it's really O'Neill's transformation throughout the episode that stands out. When he starts off, he's cocky and irreverent, but quickly started to understand the gravity(😉) of his situation. The jokes fade away and he starts getting desperate to preserve his sanity and avoid the pain. Even when they return him to his cell he gets in position so he doesn't faceplant(just one more thing to cause pain). He doesn't want to give away Shallan and get her tortured as well, but he's quickly willing to give Kanan away and start disparaging the tok'ra in general. Soon that turns to frustration and anger as the sarcophagus starts to affect his personality. I love the scene where he tells Daniel he'd not only bust him out of there, even if it meant fighting other ascended beings, but even implies he'd give Ba'al a taste of his own torture and go on a galaxy wide rampage against the goa'uld, and Daniel says "you're a better man than that", followed by Jack saying "THAT'S WHERE YOU'RE WRONG!!". The delivery of those lines gives me chills every time. O'Neill does have a rather violent side, as we saw in Red Sky for example, but it's clear the sarcophagus is making him lose himself to it. Even how viciously he beat on the guard after escaping, it was pure rage, much more than simply necessary to escape. Even at a certain point he's just at a stage of apathy, numb to the pain and just wanting to die and get it over with. Definitely one of his better performances. And you gotta love that Daniel is still looking out for his friends from the higher planes. Slightly frustrating that he didn't say hi to the rest of the team, but it was Jack who needed his help. Great scene at the end where Daniel tells him he's going to be OK despite everything and Jack being willing to trust that his friend knows best. Also really like seeing Sam, Jonas, and Teal'c really mesh and work through problems together.

Timothy Nikiforovs

any one else ketch the very ending of the episode that fail whale saw i was it last season the worm hole extreme one I just saw it again and the last too guys walking with jackets on at very end on set in show were the actual real producer and director of the stargate sg1 That was cool too see the real ones of sg1 had a cameo at the end of worm hole extreme set .

Paul Carroll

aww I liked this episode with daniel and jack and baul Rip! I just saw was it end of last year or beginning of this year the actor that played baul Cliff simon died Rest in peace too him ! for sure !

Paul Carroll

I just want to say, "loose lips sink ships," and y'all kept it zipped on even the hype for this one! I'm so proud of you guys!! Let's continue to keep it in the vault until necessary. Ba'aler gravity prison, and friendly frankness between our favorite heroes fully disclosing the gravity of the situation at hand... GOAT tier over here. Plus, Yu (!) coming in clutch for the SGC. No one saw that coming. Makes me want to learn Teal'c's skills.

Stef Furness

You know you can reply to someone's comment instead of spreading your argument across the entire comments section

normalmighty

Not all the Ba'al puns lmao XD This was such a great reaction, and so nice to see Daniel back again.

Such a great episode! I always liked that Ba'al's lo'taur had a kind of Carter haircut. It probably had nothing to do with Kanan deciding to go back for her, because he did love her apparently, but I like to think that perhaps while he was healing Jack and having his memories, maybe Carter reminded him of her and maybe enhanced those feelings of needing to go get her. 🤷‍♀️ Also - I love Ba'al, he's a great character. RIP to his actor Cliff Simon who passed away recently. I was quite sad to see that when it happened.

Lady Beyond The Wall

How do you officially remove something from Canon? With the office of Canon registration? Lmao wtf. Ok fine it's still canon but the sg1 team never thinks of using it again for 10 seasons even though it would be very help many many times.

Ba'alWhale34

Martin brought it up and Peter Deluise said it was stupid. yeah they did stop using it and generally remove it from the writers toolkit, but its never been officially retconned. In the shows canon it can still do the 3 shot disintegrate, they just never acknowledge it.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Hahaha loved your realization that shanks was gona be in this episode

accelangel

@james Yancy It was explicitly mocked in Wormhole X-Treme someone brings the third shot disintegration up and Martin reacts by telling them that that's the supidest thing he ever heard. The writers certainly didn't forget about it. They introduced something that was silly and ridiculously overpowered. After using it in three episodes, it was retconned and zats just don't work like that any more.

Ba'alWhale34

That didn't actually happen. The function may or may not have been used again, but it wasn't erased from canon.

James Yancy

Should we tell failwhale the 3 shot zat thing has been retconned out of the show 😅

Ba'alWhale34

I'm a sucker for Jack and Daniel's friendship, so this is a top-tier ep for me. Their back and forth is second to none.

indaeo

Well...I don't sleep. This episode is one of my favourites

Shadow Angel

Lmao when he saw Michael shanks as a guest appearance and freaked out then said it was probably Thor Funniest reaction moment ever in history

Ba'alWhale34

I’ve been waiting for this episode!

Easy there tiger

Ba'alWhale34

Here we go. Best episode of the series.
