This ep always hurts me. My parents split up when I was a kid and I didn't see my dad much. Giles was a big father figure to me growing up.

2021-04-06 00:28:28 +0000 UTCI love this ep, you can really feel divides starting to happen, everyone seems to have their own little lives, and then the hilariousness of Giles as a demon. But I noticed, Buffy, did recognize it was him at the very end. I wonder what else is going on at the Initiative.

Xander being an outsider from the college group. Willow keeping secrets from Buffy. Buffy off with Riley a lot and going on her own... I always get the feels when Buffy says she knew Giles by his eyes :)

2021-04-05 18:32:40 +0000 UTCOh man, this is of my favourite Buffy eps. The whole premise here is brilliant. The fact that he has to turn to Spike of all people and that he can buy him off for such a small amount of cash just makes it better. I lose it every time at the scene where he gets out to chase Walsh. And now we're starting to see there may be another shoe waiting to drop with the initiative. On the one hand it sounds bad for demons, which should be good for the gang, but who knows what they're doing.
