Patreon Billing Paused! But don't touch that dial!

Now, if you've been paying any attention at all, you know I've been planning for months to Pause the Patreon during the month of February. I've just initiated that Pause, meaning no one will be billed for the next month. The reason for this, for those that haven't been paying attention, is that I will be fully focusing on completing the final polishing overhauls to Left Hand Magic. The biggest chunk of this is the Sound Overhaul, replacing all of the moan tracks in sex scenes with ones that match the scene far better. That project has been underway in the background for three months, and is already about 50% complete. Additionally, however, will be a few re-renders, menu improvements, an improved credits screen, replacement of some music files, reworking of the tutorial, and more. This will keep me too busy during February to complete the normal bevy of other rewards, which is the reason for me pausing the Patreon for the month.

Importantly, do not unsubscribe during this period if you want a copy of the final game version.

Because the game is ultimately going to be released on Steam once its all nice and polished (as much as I can make it), there will no longer be download links available on the Patreon itself. Instead, the finalized version of the game will be sent to Patrons who are still subscribed at the time of release as a direct message. I'm hoping to make it available as a free Steam download to supporters, but that might be limited to the higher tiers, depending on how Steam's rules with free copies work.

That's all for the important notice! Thanks for paying attention!

P.S. The final release of The Modded Player will still be out tomorrow, despite me already initiating the pause today. I didn't want this notice to get lost by happening virtually on top of the release post, so I did the Pause a day early.

Comments

I'm aware of that much already. It doesn't really matter so long as I send out the download links for patrons prior to the game's Steam release. Though, in truth, I'm hoping to just give away Steam keys. I haven't been able to track down what limits, if any, Steam has on doing so yet though.

You might want to check Steam rules. Before Steam, you are free to do whatever you want. After Steam, I think you can give out a Steam key, but I do not think you can let anyone download a game for free. Even on Patreon. Once you are on Steam, they want to control all downloads.
