Future Games - Feedback Poll - Part 3!
Added 2025-07-06 03:07:09 +0000 UTCAlright, folks! As has been the case for the last couple of months, the Focus Poll is currently a Feedback Poll. Since the Harem Route is a straight shot, there isn't anything to ask about regarding it, so I'm trying to get a better idea what you all want to see in any new games I make! So far, last month's poll about Dom/Sub roles for chastity content, and the May Poll about what sort of content everyone likes in general, were both extremely informative.
In fact, both of those polls are informing this poll, by helping me narrow down the types of game I could make next. As I've mentioned before, I am very, very, very sick of working on a Visual Novel, after 3+ years of work on Left Hand Magic (mind you, half of that I was also working on Haven's Port, so development wasn't actually three years, but still). The following are a few types of games I've considered making after Left Hand Magic. Vote for what sort would interesting you most!
----------------------
1) A Trainer Game: For those unfamiliar with the term, trainer games are games like Ackbur's infamous Witch Trainer/Princess Trainer, Four Elements Trainer, or Orange Trainer. Something that had always bothered me about most of these game is that the majority of them assume a non-consensual focus. That, thankfully, isn't wholly true. There are some less famous examples out there that provide you with character that are actively into the idea of being 'trained.' Unfortunately, most of those...kinda suck. If I took a stab at this type of game, it would be focused on training one or more willing subs who want to lean into a specific kink but aren't brave enough to do it on their own. You're goal would to be push them to do so.
2) Reverse Trainer Game: So, this suggestion wouldn't even exist without the previous poll. Enough people seem to want to play a submissive chastity character that I thought there might be a niche for something like this. Instead of playing as the 'Trainer' in a trainer game, you play as the submissive (willing, of course), who finds themselves needing to accomplish ever-escalating tasks of perversion for their trainer. I don't actually know that I've seen a game quite like this before?
3) Management Game: This particular style of game encompasses several types. From Brothel Managers where you recruit and manage the girls, to games that have you managing things like a team of Pop Idols or Cam Stars. Typically, there's less dialogue and direct interaction, and more setting what you want each girl to do and then watching as they go about doing it.
4) Dating Sim: The most mainstream version of this is probably Hunie Pop. But, honestly, it's also one of the oldest types out there. Heck, I think the very first two Adult Game I personally every played were Ganguro Girl and True Love, which are both rather famous dating sim style games. These games set you up with a choice of girls to 'date,' then use various mechanics (from Hunie Pop's match 3 to RPG elements like the other two games I mentioned) to engage with 'dates' to pursue the girls. I implemented something like this in Haven's Port, but it was super privative. Imagine if I took the Dating chunk out of Haven's Port and expanded it massively, likely with an element of having to discover and help develop each girl's kink.
5) Exploration/Delver Game: I've actually done this type of game before, specifically with The Dungeon of Lewdity. But, at the time, I was supppppeeeer primitive in what I could do. I didn't have a way of getting original art assets, so it was made using art from around the web. A super famous example of this type of game would be Corruption of Champions. For that Matter Trials in Tainted Space by the same author, or Lilith's Throne by someone else entirely. Effectively, imagine if I re-did a much better version of Dungeon of Lewdity, or turned the Dungeon Town short story series into a game.
6) Escape Game: I've done one of these, in a very short and primitive manner, with The Morning After. Effectively, a character starts trapped in various types of bondage and then spends the entire game figuring out how to escape their situation. With a lot more time invested, I could make a much broader/larger game of the same type.
---------------------
So, these are some alternatives to Visual Novel style games I've been considering. Let me know what you think by voting! Or commenting! Or both!

Story focused is something I always try to do. I think a lot of Adult Games developers get so hung up on the idea of making mechanics that they sort of forget that's definitely not what brought their player base to the game ;-p.

2025-07-11 15:51:23 +0000 UTCA dungeon town game would sound very interesting. ^^ I'm especially fond of the cursed equipment trope. Btw, another game example in the Dungeon Delver category would be Ero Dungeons. It's kind of like darkest dungeon, but in lewd. The equipment mechanics are kind of interesting, but i quickly fall into a min-maxing playstyle. It also really lacks any story. So if you decide to make such a game, i would love to see it be less about numbers, but instead very story focused, which is what i personally love the most about your work ^^ But regardless what you choose, i am very excited for it :D

2025-07-10 20:50:14 +0000 UTCOh, trust me, I didn't put anything on the list that I couldn't make some version of that I'd be fine with :-p. There's a reason Visual Novel isn't on there! Seriously burned out on that genre. It's also why it's only generalities, not specific plots of ideas. I can craft something I'd enjoy writing a world/characters for around many different frameworks. Nor is the winner of this poll absolutely guaranteed to be my next game. This is more 'elimination process' than final selection. For example, I can now state with fair confidence that the majority of my current patrons would prefer something other than a Trainer Gamer, Monument Game, or Dating Sim. But that quite a few would enjoy either a Reverse Trainer or Exploration/Delver game.

2025-07-08 19:48:11 +0000 UTCThis brings up the final issue. In the end, regardless of the poll, you need to WANT to make the game. I am sure that it would turn out fine anyway, just from your talent alone, but it would be far better, if you actually enjoy making it and it is what YOU want. The best games start with a vision that the developer wants to create and not the other way around.
