Update #30 - Next Video Questions & Progress

Everything is on schedule!

I've completed recording for Return of the King after playing through both the endgame PC content, and also giving the Xbox version a go as well. After going through a bit of a nightmare trying to get the PC version to detect triggers (using several controllers) I gave up since it at least accepted bumpers, which worked out perfectly fine though using the special abilities was definitely awkward. Widescreen required me downloading a patch for it, and while it did stretch out the UI elements luckily the 3D graphics were rendered correctly so I was willing to take that hit. I'm already well into editing and a guest has sent a part ready to be included with the help of an artist and audio engineer.

I fully expect the video to be finished this week.

Unfortunately, as this is a movie licensed game I'm not sure when it'll actually be public on YouTube this week.

The game uses both music, sound effects, voice lines, and entire clips from the Lord of the Rings films, and after uploading test footage of a few parts on YouTube it immediately began yelling at me that some clips were muted, others were monetized by the music owners, and others were outright blocked. Others were . . . completely fine. I've done enough testing to get a less vague idea of what will upset the bots the most, but it's still very likely that it's going to be in dispute when I get it uploaded. While at this point I don't mind them grabbing the ad revenue since Patreon has me covered, my biggest issue is that the video would be blocked in several countries and I don't want that. With this in mind, I'm going to be uploading two versions of the video. One will have content that will upset the bots that I'll try to dispute, but the other will be "the backup" using a completely different music mix and with a lot less cutscene footage from the game. Copyright holders have an entire month to respond to a dispute, and if they say nothing about it than the video can go through as normal. I've had some holders release a claim within a day, others have just run out the clock. Regardless of what happens, you all will have an earlier look at it if it's not resolved within a week whether it's the backup version unlisted, or putting the original video on something like Dailymotion or Vimeo. I might run a poll to decide that.

For now, I'm currently taking questions for the next video credits that you can comment below.

Thanks for all your support! This is the exact kind of situation where Patreon really helps out.
