April's Delayed Short Story!
Added 2025-05-05 09:27:20 +0000 UTCWhew! As promised, I never outright discard rewards, even if they get delayed! This is the last delayed reward from April, the short story that got sidelined as I realized how much I needed to focus every spare minute on Left Hand Magic!
This return to Alyia and her aunt's magic shop was fun, I think. It's honestly a little less smutty than usual? I think? That wasn't really intentional, but I had fun creating the magic system that's described within the story, so that took more focus than normal for the non-sex bits of these shorts.
On the other hand, the point of this refresh to the series is to establish a cascading set of lessons for Alyia, and I think it did a very good job of setting that up. Since the first 1,500 words or so where entirely setup for such, future entries in this series refresh set would contain more sex, and it's hardly absent from this one. It's just slightly less major of a focus.
