Saga of Tanya the Evil Episode 2 REACTION

So yes, as you recognised at the beginning, the years the war takes place offers some hint as to which war it represents, but also there's the uniforms, the weapons, and the trench warfare. It's also worth noting that WW2 on Germany's side was about expansion, whereas the Empire's goal as of right now is a defensive war. You'll notice at this point that Tanya's main focus is adherence to military rules. Technically when she was going to execute the soldier disobeying her, she was following proper Empire military doctrine, however, her superiors stopped her because it was probably excessive to do on a simple recruit. Tanya's main character is an atheist and does not consider Being X to be God, though they claim to be. As he said during his death, if God did exist, he wouldn't allow him to be murdered. He considers Being X as a supernatural adversary, closer to a devil than God. It's interesting because of this staunch lack of faith even in the face of this being with deity-level powers, and the fact that Being X is actually trying to force him into the desperate situation in which he'll believe he is God actually makes you root for Tanya. As for the battle against the Entente Alliance, this is something not covered at any point in the anime as far as I'm aware, but is probably relevant to understand: Tanya is able to inject herself with magical formulas for pain suppression, enhanced reaction times, and any pain she does feel is resolved with intercerebral narcotics. This in effect puts her in a state of ecstasy equivalent to an intense drug high. At the point when she self-destructed, she was using a protective film formula to protect herself from the lethality of the explosion, at the cost of heavy injuries. You can see the polygons of the shattered protective film around her as she falls.

Yep, that song at the end is definitely Myth & Roid. They have such a unique sound that it's hard NOT to recognize them lol. The song itself is called "Jingo Jungle". Last time I watched Tanya, I was curious wtf a Jingo was, so I Googled the defintion. Apparently, a jingo is defined as: "a vociferous supporter of policy favoring war, especially in the name of patriotism.", and is usually used as a derogatory term. Makes the song make a lot more sense to me now lol.

Yeah, Tanya doesn't want to believe such an arrogant entity could be the literal supreme creator of the universe and as such, should not be worshipped in that way.

The forces Tanya and the empirr faced this episode would be equivalent to the Sweden, you can see a map just before Tanya takes off for reference, in ep one it is "France". // For future reference, France is named "The Republic", Sweeden is "The Entente Aliance", England is "The Allied Kingdom", USSR is "The Federation" and the US is "The Unified States"
