In Fate, this is represented in Karna's golden earrings and bracelets. In life, Karna made a vow he would never deny a request from a monk. Knowing this, the god Indra, father of Arjuna, disguised himself as a monk and asked Karna to give away his armor before he battled his half brother Arjuna in the Mahabbaratha war. While Karna was aware this was a trap, he still abided his oath and stripped himself of his armor. Impressed by his honorable ways, Indra gifted Karna his spear, Vasavi Shakti, which was so powerful, Indra himself could not wield it. In Fate, this is means that, in order for Karna to be able to use Vasavi Shakti, he has to strip himself of his invulnerability first, you can see his earrings and golden details disappear before he summons Vasavi Shakti.
