We got two gorgeous armies into our studio prior to not being to access it due to COVID-19 and we are so happy that post-production is nearly complete. Patrons, you get a sneak peak at the video we will be releasing in May 2020.
Blood Angels vs Necrons in a 1750 battle report teaser video.
In this video we pushed our graphics and editing team to include effects and you will see snippets of some of our new visuals in action. Not all these effects will make it to the final cut though we are currently really happy with how the battle report is coming along.
Update on Season Two of 40k in 40m
Prior to COVID-19 having an effect on Canada we were able to get into studio and start production of Season Two as well as shoot our "How To" video. We managed three shoots in total, the "How To" as well as two 40k in 40m's.
We were enthusiastic about the Season and even had scheduled meetings for Adepticon to meet with potential guests as well as flying gamers from out of country to be on our show.
However, once reality set in that we would not be returning to studio soon we had to postpone those guests as well as our production on season two.
A typical production crew for a Play On show consists of normally 5 people not including the talent and so there was no way we could adhere to social distancing rules to continue any kind of production the way we were use to.
In early April we moved a good part of our gear out of the studio and began to divvy it up amongst our team in hopes we could produce shows from home. Nick, our videographer extraordinaire was able to do our Wolfenstein video from home after receiving models painted by various members of our team. This was the first proof of concept that we could still produce quality content without the studio.
The current challenge is space, as we are hard pressed to shoot a full 6x4 in the spaces we have access to. And, the bigger issue is achieving our complex shots and cinematography with now a crew of, well, one. It is doable however it means for that single videographer a shoot that may have been one evening now spans days.
That being said, we are deterred and met two-weeks ago to come up with strategies on what we can do and will do over the next three-months. We are excited for those plans and while we cannot produce more battle reports that we are known for, we will still be doing high quality entertaining content.
We thank you for your support and are doing our best to give back to you, our patrons, the way we had planned before COVID-19.
Sincerely, Tak - Producer Play on Tabletop
