World Sneak Peek - Part 4 - Fýri Forest

We will be closing the month(or starting? This came out a little bit later than we expected) with one more World Sneak Peek. Today we talk about the place where most Elves feel at home, sometimes even more so than their own houses, the Fýri forest! A place as old as Elvish history recalls. The already revered forest became vital to the Elves after rich veins of mana were found beneath its vast reaches; such an important discovery worked much like a beacon for settlers, it was then decided that a village should be built amidst a clearance in the woods, it didn't take long before becoming a town, and now, it is a city known to be the heart of this land, the city of Elfheim!

Fýri’s lush is home to numerous streams and rivers of varied sizes, stunning waterfalls, and even a giant lake that we previously covered here. Its biodiversity can be troublesome even to the most experienced of herbalists, the vast region covered by the forest is home to all sorts of life, which in turn became a problem for its protectors, since the riches that lie below were found, the forest became a valuable target to malicious beings, however, there’s an old saying in Elfheim, one that easily explains how the Elves persevere: "When an Elf fight in the woods, nothing can match their strength.".

Elfheim’s past was plagued with battles, even war, that’s a stark contrast to Elvish culture, although they actively seek peace, no Elf shall stand idly while someone enters their forest with dubious intentions, even more so if the intruders threaten the woods or their very lives. Under the starry sky and below the canopy of trees the Elves made Fýri their home, a forest full of mysteries and power, and they intend to protect and nourish it, for evermore.

Wandering around the woods, especially Fýri’s, is an activity that Nil is very proficient at, climbing tree after tree, searching for the tallest one she can get to, entertains her since she was very young. Although little did she know, there’s one tree she won’t ever be able to reach the top, practically at the heart of the forest, lies Yggdrasin, a tree that’s so tall and majestic that we may be giving it a sneak peek of its own.
