Quick Progress Report
Added 2025-03-11 00:16:25 +0000 UTCWell, the polls will all close within 24 hours, but I figured I'd at least drop a simple report on how the various re-renders of animations are going. I've managed to redo 8 animations, with another one ongoing as I type this. There's one more that I mostly fixed, but it needs some small additional tweaks and the render time is too long, so it's been set aside to run later in the month once I'm done with the new content renders. There's usually a few days where renders aren't ongoing that I can hopefully run it in (it took 30+ hours on the first redo attempt, it has a higher frame count than most of the animations in the game).
My goal was to knock out 10-12 of the 24 that need redone, and I'll at least hit the minimum of that goal. I'm thinking I might be able to squeeze in one more, plus the aforementioned long one, which would bring me to 11 for the month. That still leaves an annoying number to knock out over a few months as I finish the game, but it at least takes a decent sized bite out of the problem. Hopefully, that's enough to keep from having to do a ton of cleanup once the game is actually over...
Well, whatever else happens, I'll switch over to doing new content again within the next day or two as the the poll finishes. I also need to go shake the sound guy to get some definite answers. I'd have done it over the weekend...except that I spent basically all of yesterday doing my taxes -_-. It took over 5 hours and I ended up paying Turbotax for them to fix a bug in their system. Assholes, ugh. As if I don't get royalty screwed enough just for being a small business...

It's always annoying and painful, but I was extra special annoyed this time at actively paying for tech support -_-. Like seriously, what the fuck? You guys screw up, so I have to pay for it?

You do not even want to know how bad the adrenaline spike was π΅βπ« but let me just say, while you were fighting Turbo Tax, I was fighting a similar thing with H&R Block Tax Cut. Their bug cost me six months of fighting with the IRS also, β«sighβͺ while we all figured out what had gone wrong. At least in the end, H&R Block did not charge me anything and I even got all my money back from the IRS also (for the previous 3 years). What a pain in the a... though.
