Absolutely CHAOTIC Start to the Year!? | Love Live! Superstar!! S3 Episode 1 REACTION

God damn beautiful start to this season! One of the best first episodes in the series, this will be so much fun!

Comments

Kanon showing up to her own funeral. I don't know if Kanon realises that her joining is a flex on Wien since they can't beat each other anymore. The OP and ED are spoilers in the most technical sense, but they're tropey predictable ones. You can hold off for a couple episodes if you want (but we can't give you a precise time since we don't know either.)

This season is a bit weird compared to season 2 because at that point the 4 new girls had actually only just been introduced, where as for this season the new girls have been in the IRL unit for over a year already... I really do hope they keep up this plot line for a bit though, at least long enough to have a song with Kanon + 1st years, and Liella -Kanon. Would be interesting. Also I'm not sure if you could tell while listening but the ED this time was only Kanon singing, so I'm wondering if every episode is going to have a different singer or if they're going to add people every episode, guess we will find out lol.

The story of Love Live Superstars is not adapting or continuing the story of any video game. Nijigasaki did adapt the story of the "School Idol Festival All Stars (SIFAS)" video game, but it was not the same story, it has too many differences, starting with the fact that in the video game Nijigasaki, Aqours and µ's interacted; but in the anime it was only Nijigasaki (although some school idols that appeared in the "School Idol Festival 1" video game also appeared from time to time). In the case of Nijigasaki we could say that the anime and the video game are 2 different universes or versions, in fact the Nijigasaki movies are going to have a completely original story and the story of the Nijigasaki version of "All Stars" is going to continue in a new video game next year. So far Superstars has only been in one video game which is "School Idol Festival 2" but there was no main story as such, just some stories to entertain at some events. It's different from Bang Dream or D4DJ for example; in those cases the story of the video games directly continues the story of the anime, and then their following seasons continue after some arc in the video game so to get the full story you need to watch both the anime and play the game. The Love Live games on the other hand don't continue the story of the anime, but they work as separate universes that share things that happened in the anime but then they make their own story that is disconnected from what they do in the anime. Therefore in the case of Love Live, it is not necessary to play the video games to watch the anime. Nijigasaki is the closest thing to an adaptation of a game, but the anime has its own story and has followed a different path, what I must say is that in my opinion if you have played "School Idol Festival All Stars" you will enjoy Nijigasaki more in terms of catching references. Nijigasaki is the Love Live anime with the most references of all, each chapter has references either from the video game, or from Nijiyon's comics, or from the seiyus, costumes, merchandise, background songs and many other things. But not knowing anything about those things in the end doesn't matter to understand the story, but it makes you appreciate certain things more. Regarding Nijigasaki, its original source is SIFAS, there were no plans for an anime at the beginning because it was a spin-off project but then they made the anime and now they want to concentrate more on that version. In the case of µ's and Aqours, some things were done with them before their animes, there are mangas for example. But in the case of Superstar, its original source is the anime because as soon as the project was announced, they also announced the anime. Those of us who follow the franchise and Superstar, know from a little after the end of the second season who the new girls of this season are and there have been quite a few things done with them in these years such as new songs and concerts, but as for the story of this season we don't know what will happen, everything is new since it is not based on anything. I think you can see the opening and ending normally in the next episode or if you want wait for episode 3, but I think the cover of the season already said everything you need to know at least in terms of characters. The new generation of Love Live, which are the girls from the Hasunosora school do have their own video game, which if one day they decide to adapt into an anime, they will probably make it similar to Nijigasaki and it will be an adaptation and there will be 2 different versions. In fact, in the case of Hasunosora, there is a manga that adapts things from the video game. The story of the video game is about a year ahead, but I think the manga is adapting it in a way that would be very good for an anime since it has a better pace.
