Progress Report

Alright! I said I'd do a proper report on the Epilogue stuff, and that's what most of this will be about. First, just to hit the other stuff real quick...

Progress is underway on Cara Loft 7, basically on target so far (I average 2 renders a day on the MMS stories, my poor laptop isn't up to much more). I'm planning to rough out an outline, hopefully, for the short story before I crash too, and start actually writing it...technically later today since it's past midnight? Anyway, not much else to say on those, so let's flip over to the Epilogue stuff.

First, when I say 'Epilogue,' I'm also including the Council Meeting for each route. So, what the 'Epilogue' consists of is around 10-12 still renders for the Council stuff, followed by a pair of animations just like any 'event.' After that is where the true 'Epilogue' type content comes. No more animations, since they frankly don't work well with an Epilogue format. But around 10-12 additional still renders, some of them of the kinky variety. These will show 'snapshots,' with plenty of text, showing how life continues on for the particular Pair or Trio that the Route belongs to. Essentially, it tells their equivalent to a 'Happily Ever After,' though I only go into the next year or so of their lives.

Those stills and the writing that comes with them will serve to close out each route. It also makes for a bit more of a heavy content loadout than the number of animations (which is normally one of the major metrics I use to describe builds) implies. The build will only have 6 animations. But it will have something like 60-70 still renders, and a high word count for any build. Then, of course, there's the updates to some of the rougher animations I'm planning to start on this month.

We're now close enough to a final product (despite still having the Harem Route ahead) that I'm starting to clean up the mess, as it were, adding polish where I can. This is also going to include a fairly major undertaking to get the Sound un-fucked. I know the sex scene soundtracks for the game are...lackluster. It was just one more skill I didn't really have, and I was already learning like...five of those...when I first started on the game. So I left them as 'barely adequate.' Thankfully, I've had a plan all along for fixing that. I have a friend that is, among other things, a Sound Designer. I've arranged to hire him (at way less than he's worth, honestly) whenever he has spare time.

I'd actually hoped to get him working on it in December, but both of us were crazy busy and it didn't work out. Since he just started a new job as well, January isn't going to be the month we start seeing the overhauls either. I'm going to poke him into hopefully agreeing to start on it in February, giving him plenty of time to make sounds that actually don't suck for the...500+ animations of the game. Yeah, I'm expecting it to take him a few months, since it's a side job for him :-p. Still, the end result should be a massive quality spike for the sound component of the game. So, that's something else to look forward to coming up!
