Sitrep for October
Added 2024-10-04 06:49:01 +0000 UTCAlright everyone, I haven't felt the need to do one of these in a few months. In this case, however, it's called for. Specifically, because I'm going to be gone (visiting family) for 4 days this month. I've skipped too many such events to get out of this one without a lot of grumbling (and I honestly want to see a few of the people that will be there), but it does mean it's going to carve over half of a week out of my production time for the month.
Thankfully, this is at least a 31 day month, so it's not as bad as it could be. But I wanted everyone to be aware up front that the build size might not be anything special. I think I should still be able to hit the 9 animation builds that I've averaged most of the year, but I won't really know that until later in the month. Because the trip is literally smack in the middle of the month, right after when the polls usually end, there's also some concern about how it might effect the extra rewards. Particularly the Mixed Media Short. Normally, I do rendering for that between the 10-20th. And I'll be away for 4 of those days. With a fifth probably mostly spent recovering from the trip, too.
I'll do my best to keep any disruption down and, as I'm sure most of you know by now, I will deliver all rewards, even if it means delivering them at a delay. I just wanted everyone to be forewarned about the possibility of such delays specifically happening this month.
Anyway, Polls will be appearing later today (a bit early, as I want to get a jump on as much stuff as possible), so keep an eye out for them!
