It seems heavily implied to me that the Rakurium can be used to extend a persons lifespan with Gibeon talking about needing more, being surrounded by the pink mist and also talking as if he knew Lucius personally when his appearance was first teased. Also puts more meaning behind the name "Eternal Blessing".
