Okay! So...first thing's first. I actually need to talk about Haven's Port for a moment before anything else. Normally, not something that happens a week after its release. But, thanks to the efforts of George Lever (thanks George!), a bunch of bugs were found. I've added an updated .html file to the Build 15 download post that can replace your existing game file to fix the bugs for new games. Most of you won't really need it. The bugs in question were primarily the result of heavy cheat use to push through the game quickly, which is why they hadn't been caught previously, despite some of them having been around for at least a half dozen builds. This is also why I've been a bit slow to update the files and am currently holding off on updating the download packages. Essentially, I'm waiting a few more days in case more bugs pop up, before repackaging and re-uploading everything for a second time, having already had to do some once for the build number incident...
Anyway, onto the stuff for this month. Polls aren't done yet, so I'll hold off on commenting on the short story or mixed media short. But I'll cover progress with Left Hand Magic, at least. Wallpapers are, as often is the case, sort of done already. Only sort of though, in this case, as they are going to require a bit more post-processing work than usual and I haven't done that part yet.
As for Left Hand Magic! That's going...wellish? As you can see from the images in the post, I decided to start with Talia's event. I'm not going to spoil things by explaining just how our protagonist's situation came to be, though ;-). For now, I'm about one day behind my planned schedule, that delay having been caused by the complex bugs that popped up with Haven's Port. Those sucked up pretty much an entire day...and I also lost a tiny bit more time when I kinda of...made a bunch more renders for Talia's event than I was actually expecting to. I was originally planning for maybe 8 renders, followed by a two-stage animation. I ended up with 17 renders instead.
So...um...yeah. I think it makes for a good event, but not quite what I'd originally been planning. I have also finished the first animation, which is a blowjob in the pictured pillory. And the second stage of the animation set for the event is rendering as I type (slowly, it's got like 12 hours to go, animations are time-consuming to render, hence why we get comparatively few of them per LHM build).
The unexpected explosion of renders is actually causing me to shift how I ended to do the events too, so not quite sure how that's going to work out. I'd intended to put some dialogue exploration in them, with you being able to get to know the characters with a few menu conversation choices and such. But now I'm afraid doing so might make the events too long. I might, instead, end up pushing those conversation options into the Week 3 content, as a non-H type date? Still mulling that bit over.
Anyway, so far, mostly so good. The loss of a single day isn't unusual, I plan for a few days like that every month as something unexpected virtually always happens. Little bit unhappy that it happened so early in the month. But, mostly things are on target.
