Since I have to update my RenPy.. all kind of troubles.
Android couldn't update... but if you make clean install it is fine.
Old save files give errors (only the first time)..or game even crash with some old saves.
I did so much install-update-downgrade-reinstall etc... and now I am not sure what the hell I have in my computer. 4 days non stop fighting with unknown problems of RenPy engine.
Nothing is from my code or configurations. It is the engine which messed up everything.
After a long and tiresome fight I give up.
I am sure that after this update everything will be fine because I will keep RenPy and I will not change anything, but for now I can't do anything more.
I am so sorry for any inconvenience. I did my best to avoid this kind of problems.
The old version of RenPy refused to create new Android builds (because is turns out it depends of one file on Internet, which for I don't know what reason, nobody in the world made a copy.. and now the hosting is down and this file lost forever). RenPy made new version of engine and said..here.. no problems, it will work.. It Didn't!!
We do have problems....but I can't fight.. it is too big for me.
If you got error on your PC after open old save - Try to click Rollback button and when the error is gone, continue to play.. it works (most of the times).
If loading old save crashes the game... you have to try another one...
SO SO sorry... but I tried my best.

Hi PaulAnhalt, I didn't have choice. I had to update it because the old RenPy stop supporting Android. Please write me private message what is not working, because for the moment everyone is fine. We can solve it together.
2022-10-07 13:34:28 +0000 UTCUnfortunately it does not work. It's an impossibility that you have to play the whole game again just because of an update. Why can't you program a game with one and the same version? That's how you lose fans...

Some people wrote me that the problem is because RenPy has some old persistent data stored and if you delete it, it could work. Please try to delete: 1. ~/Library/RenPy/game_directory DELETE the 'persistent' file. 2. Not sure (I don't have Mac) but I think have one more 'persistent' file: the place where you extracted your game ... delete this one too. 3. Start the game and try . If you see error after loading save file, try to Rollback a few times and when the error is gone, play.... hope it will helps.
