Left Hand Magic - Demo/Intro

Alright! Time to show everyone the results of the first month working on Left Hand Magic. As I repeatedly warned, this first build is pretty minimal, due to the need to establish all the basic systems, as well as overcome a number of technical challenges. That said, I do think it does a pretty good job of showing the sort of quality you can expect from the game! I'm quite please by the aspect of things, even if I'm a little disappointed I didn't get farther so I could introduce all the main characters. That said, I'm going to cover the plans going forward here in the next section. If you're not interested in that and just want to play the demo/intro, feel free to skip down to the downloads! 

--------Overview of Development Plan---------

I'm not going to include a specific timeline here, as I can't be sure how fast or slow development will be just yet. I'll have a better idea of that after Build 2. That said, the general plan for development of Left Hand Magic is thus:

Intro and Core Systems  - Already Done

Prologue - This is a series of small events where each of the major characters are introduced. The first opportunities to earn points for each of the routes for the game will occur here, as well as a few still H-images. However, the routes won't split until the next part of the game.

Events 1-6: After the prologue, the main section of the game will open up, including the route-splits. This will consist of 6 major events where your options will be determined by which routes you've chosen. In order to open up those routes, there will be 5 in-game days between each major event. These days can be used to visit each of the girls, with each visit using up one day. Since each girl will have 2-3 events you can do between each major event, it will not be possible to do everything. This is where the Routes come in. Choosing to show interest to too many of the girls will result in not getting a chance with any of them. Focusing on one or two girls will allow you to open their routes, including two threesome routes. Though I haven't decided yet if the threesome routes will be available from the start, or be added on later.

Note that not all of those events will contain H-content, particularly near the start of the game. As you progress your relationship with any one girl (or two for threesome routes), a larger and larger percentage of the in-between events content will be H-scenes. These in-between events will become the primary way to explore each of the girl's fetishes/kinks, allowing me to make sure there's a significant amount of each type of content in the game to really engage with.

Endings and New Game+: There are 7 planned routes for the game. Six of them, each with their own endings, will be available in an initial playthrough. The seventh will be a Harem Route, that will only become available on a New Game+ playthrough. Obviously, due to its nature, that route will be the last thing added before the final release of the game.

That is my general development cycle for the game, with my current projections being total development will require roughly 9-10 builds. At least hopefully. That might be a little optimistic. We'll see...

I'm glad you think it's good quality! And thanks for reporting the issues. I've fixed both the typo and the overload issues (there were a lot of the latter I had to fix and apparently missed that one) in the development copy. As for the animation, it took me some staring at it to see what you were seeing. I don't think that it's actually a case of the leg being visible through the other leg, but rather a light/shadow thing that is making it seem like that if you look at it just wrong. Unfortunately, there's no way to fix that without completely redoing the animation with new lighting, which isn't very feasible. I MAY, possibly, be able to correct it by adding some color correction, but I honestly don't know if that will help. If I have time as some point, I might try it.

Looks very good so far, very high quality in comparison to other VN's I've seen. A few fixes to point out: 1. While Talia is talking about planes she's also talking about "unaligned planse", 2. While Mira is internal monologuing starting "Not only ... any of these projects" the text is one line too long and clips the controls at the base of the screen, consider paginating or line breaking, 3. during the second animated masturbation scene MC's right leg is partially visible through her left leg.
