New Game Concept 2 - The Starship Promise

Salutations all! Time for the second of three concepts that could be chosen (by Patron voting) for the game to replace Chastity Quest (which should be ending after next month). It took a bit longer than I'd hoped to get this up, mostly on account of trying to get a different looking art style. You'll note that I attached both the results of that experimentation, plus the original photoreal renders (which is what Haven's Port uses). Which style to go with for this particular game would be something I leave up to a Patron Poll. Now, with that said...onto describing the game!

One note of warning! Everything involved with this description is extremely early concept stuff and subject to change. You will, in fact, note that some bits aren't even fully defined. This is on account of the fact that I can't just buy assets willy-nilly for all the possibilities of each game. I have a few sample assets to use for each concept, with more to be added only once a single game is chosen.

-----------------------------------The Starship Promise----------------------

You've done it. You've reached the starting line for your dream. A childish dream, perhaps...but one you've never shied away from trying to make happen. If only the cost of getting here so young hadn't been so high. With a deep breath, you swing the bottle of sake with one strong arm, shattering it against the hull of your new ship, following the action up with a sip of the single cup you'd taken from the nearly-full bottle. An old tradition and one with no one around to witness it as there should have been...but it will have to do for a sendoff. With a mix of extreme happiness and deep sadness, you take your first step onto the newly Christened ship, thinking about how this all was possible.

Your parents died almost exactly three years ago today. You were barely seventeen, having just entered a prestigious academy for star traders and explorers, your first step on your childhood dream of seeing the galaxy. Of course, you had less noble intentions as well, wanting to explore the galaxy of beautiful women, hopefully by adding their exotic glory to your crew, but you understandably didn't mention that part to anyone.

Then came the accident. Both of your parents dead in their thirties and no one to really blame for it. It had been a stupid, stupid stroke of bad luck. A single part of the aircar that hit them which had checked out flawlessly when it left the factory, met every safety check...and cracked due to a flaw no one had any idea was even possible in the crystalline material it had been made out of.

You were devastated. You'd loved your parents, who had both been wonderful people, deeply. You'd been particularly close to your father, who shared your passion for all things interstellar. You had nearly flunked out of the first term of the academy as your depression swamped all other aspects of your life.

But there had been a tiny diamond to be salvaged from all the pain. At first, you'd barely glanced at the money you'd been paid as compensation by the manufacturer. Barely even been aware of the accidental death and life insurance policy payouts. But, when you'd been snapped out of your funk by a friend...you'd realized that you were now a multi-millionaire.

It wasn't a vast fortune. Nothing truly staggering. But you decided to seize on it...and use it to fulfill the dreams your parents had always supported you in. You put your nose to the grindstone, dedicating the next two and a half years to passing your classes with the highest of honors. And two weeks ago, you'd done it. You'd graduated in the top five for your entire graduating class...and went straight from graduation to the Shipyard where you'd already commissioned a ship with the vast majority if your wealth.

The Promise was glorious, at least to you, even if she was just a cargo vessel. And after two weeks of builder’s trials and final tests. She was completely yours. Now, it only remains to set out on your adventure. And who knows? Perhaps you'll still pick up a few of those exotic beauties to join your crew along the way...

Major Characters

First Officer - You have someone in mind for your First Officer. She graduated a year ahead of you, being a great all-arounder at the top of her class...but having had no ambitions to own her own ship. You've kept in contact with her and now only need to convince her to leave her current post...which might not be hard, given that she's apparently found herself in a bit of trouble that she's refused to explain to you fully...

Race: She will be either a human or elven-like character, not featured in the samples.

Personality: A weirdly competent bombshell. With the sort of looks that makes everyone think she's an airhead...and a personality to match most of the time. Which makes the fact she can out-compute most AIs startling to virtually everyone when they figure it out. Assuming they ever do...

Pilot: You enjoy piloting yourself...but you need someone to help if you ever want any free time! You wonder who you'll find to fill the slot?

Race: I really want to make this a catgirl race, but I'm actively struggling to find assets for it. An ongoing problem that explains why I haven't done much with catgirls in Haven's Port. Ideally, I'd like something along the lines of Aisha Clan-Clan  from Outlaw Star, race-wise. But I may not be able to get the right assets...simply because they might not exist -_-.

Personality: Energetic ball of chaos, combined with being utterly shameless...

Engineer: Featured in the images as the multi-colored (gree/blue/purple) alien shortstack!

Race: Currently unnamed, relatively primitive in some ways but amazingly talented tinkerers.

Personality: Happy-go-lucky but a little dense as far as relationships go. You'll have to pry her away from her fascination with your ship if you want to get anywhere with her...

Cargo Master: Featured as the Yellow/Green Alien above. From a forest world, you find her in a very odd place indeed...and very eager to not be there any longer. Of course, you'll have to help her get free of the reason she was stuck there in the first place...

Race: Currently unnamed. Her race is very in tune with plants, even having some control over them...in part because they are partially plants themselves.

Personality: Extremely kind, but given her centuries of age, that kindness comes across almost as matronly. Or it would...if she didn't enjoy teasing you quite so much...

???: I'm keeping this one a surprise ;-). The only thing I will reveal is that she's a shapeshifter who you find relatively early in your journey! I also know exactly what assets I want to use for her primary form, but I haven't acquired them just yet.

What Type of Game is This?

Unlike Station Wayfarer, this game leans towards Visual Novel, with only a few dating sim type elements thrown in. You, as the protagonist, will travel from world to world in a set sequence, with a new girl to recruit on each world. That said, this is a VN, not a kinetic novel, meaning that which choices you make while recruiting each character will matter towards:

1) If you can recruit them at all.

2) What relationship you'll have with them once recruited.

3) What sort of reputation you develop.

In addition, there will be repeatable content and additional story developments with each character once you've recruited them. That content will not be locked to the main story, but something you can explore whenever you feel like it by spending time on the ship. This will make it overall less restrictive than most VNs, but not quite as free-roam as my other games are (or Wayfarer Station would be). On the plus side, however, is that I will be able to develop a richer story for the game, playing to one of my strengths.

Kink/Fetish Content

This game will feature the following for absolutely sure:

Chastity Play with at least one major character

Bondage Content with multiple characters

Threesomes/Harem Content

Transformation Content (Shapeshifter Character + A Few One-Off Scenes)

This game MAY include the following content type as well:

Futa Content (subject to voting)

I'm glad you at least kinda like the art style :-). I may be able tweak the style a bit farther to make the characters pop a bit more. That could help with the 'understanding what you're seeing' bit. As for the cargo master...yes -_-. Those...indents? I'm also not sure what to call them. They are, unfortunately, part of the character-shaping of that particular asset. I wasn't happy to discover that as it wasn't obvious when I purchased the asset, and I'm not really a fan of them. Though, on the bright side, the Brorderland's Style (which is actually a good way to describe it, I think) actually hides them a bit...

The Borderlands style art is an interesting touch, and I kinda like it, the more "solid" 3D images are sharper in terms of understanding what I'm looking at however. Also, youre "3D" render of the Cargo Master has some very ... concerning looking wrinkles/scars/something on the right torso and breastbone area. I'm sure this is intentional to differentiate the race, but it is jarring to look at; maybe the contrast is too much, I'm not really sure how to describe it other than "jarring". It's not ugly, but it is very ... alien, which is again the likely intent, so bravo for that.

I'm glad you're enjoying my work! As for Tinker...you know, I'd almost forgotten about her? Tale's From Ellen's Sex Shop was written over 5 years ago at this point! However, that actually doesn't mean you're completely wrong. While she isn't directly inspired by Tinker, both she and Tinker are inspired by the same set of archetypes...a combination which I admit happens to be a personal favorite of mine. And now that you've reminded me about Tinker...I have to admit I'm more than a little tempted to sneak in a few subtle references ;-). She was a fun character to write back then and I was always a little sad that I and my co-author never got to do more with her.

Hello just wanted to say really like your work. I'm currently reading Tale's From Ellen Sex Shop. And from reading this and seeing the picture for the engineer. Was wondering if she is inspired by Tinker? If so, sweet and if not my apologies. Anywho looking forward to whatever gets picked. I'm sorta leaning towards Station for now. 💜
