Serena (Elf Version) Lines

So, the attached lines are what I've been fighting with for the last week (again, it's really maybe 4-6 hours only, in total. Still waaaaay more than I'm happy with, but that 'week' thing is a bit misleading). 

I had no end of trouble with this piece, even if I'm mostly happy with how it ultimately turned out. Not only does Serena's long hair make her the single most complex character to draw even the basic lines for, but the outfit gave me massive amounts of trouble. When I first drew it, it looked far too plain, so I kept having to come up with more details to add to it. Details that had to fit/sell the outfit. Some of that won't come out properly until the color phase, but after a LOT of tweaking ...plus redrawing that bloody sword/sheath and quiver about 20 times (not to mention the EAR. That EAR should not have taken me like 7 tries, and I'm still not 100% happy with it), I've finally got something that I'm ready to move to color with.

I'm planning to do some final clean up of the various lines tonight, plus hopefully do the flat fills of color. Which, strangely enough, is the single longest/most time consuming part of the coloring process. After that, a day or two of spare time while I'm working on Eros's code should give me a finished piece. 

I was originally hoping to have 3-4 finished pieces before the Eros 2.0 release -_-. But reality has been unfriendly to that goal. In part, that is due to lack of time...but also in part is that this piece has been slowed down a lot by me working through how exactly I'm going to handle creating the art. I am, as I'm working on this, sorting out the exact workflow needed to get the most out of what I'm doing. 

In example, I have a version of this pose that doesn't have ANY of the outfit pieces. The idea is to make 2-3 initial 'talking' poses that will be used whenever you're simply having a conversation with one of the girls. I can then swap in new costumes onto the same poses without having to completely redo the art from scratch. 

Mind you, that's only going to help speed the process in specific areas. Other things, like sex scenes, are going to have to be pretty much custom from start to finish. This is just me trying to maximize the use of each art piece, since I'm the one doing EVERYTHING at the moment. Hopefully, someday, I'll be able to bring in an artist to cut some of the workload and not have to plan in every possible way I can trim down said workload....
