This September I had a whole lot going on! There was a big IRL issue that was finally resolved just a week ago, I managed to finish the first part of a spooky sapphic short, and even drew for myself a little bit which I realized I haven't been doing enough of. I'm going to try to go into October with more energy for creativity. Also it would be really cool if I could figure out some Halloween plans. What do you all do for Halloween?

I have kids, so a bunch of us families have a pre-trick-or-treat party in a friend’s garage/driveway. Kids get amped up on pizza and soda, and the adults start drinking. We also have a bowl of candy for the families with little-littles who come through before it gets dark. Then after the sun sets most of us head out around our little neighborhood, drinks in hand, and spend time yelling at our kids to not run in the dark and watch for the few rare cars. One or two houses even provide refills!

I throw a costume party at my house every year and make a bunch of on-theme foods. That's usually the Saturday before though. I think this year I'm going to be a vampire? Still undecided. We have lots of cutout bats for the house. (I love paper decorations - you can get a big impact, but they're cheap and they store flat.) I also go to the annual cemetery ghost tour put on by the Old Cemeteries Society in my city as a sort of fundraiser each year to support their programs of upkeep and headstone repair and whatnot. If your cities do any kind of haunted walks or ghostly walks, I highly recommend - it's usually a neat blend of local history and folklore. My required spooky season movies are Van Helsing and Sleepy Hollow because I love the camp in both. And for podcast listening it's The Midnight Library.

The kids around me go to malls now instead of houses, which is just so sad. I'll put out the pumpkins and get dressed up and have my bowl of candy at the ready though, for the like 10 kids that'll come by

Planning to watch Hocus Pocus since people don't do Halloween where I live

Hallowe'en, normally I would do a short ritual then dress up and head to the local pub (the evening turns into one big costume party generally! you can still enter without a spooky costume as well), this year, the ritual will happen but not the heading out as I am still housebound with a recovering broken femur (grumble, can't even have any mead thanks to pain killers!)

Aww, that's such a sweet hug, and I'm glad it's less crazy there. And hopefully I'll be married, there's some waiting on passport stuff

I dress up and hand out candy! While watching Nightmare Before Christmas of course. I really enjoy giving out candy. This is my favorite Holiday! I also do a small, personal Samhain ritual as well.🤗

I watch Alien (1979) every year on (or near) Halloween!

I'll be working, but I'll probably get to go see the kids the next week.

I got my first girlfriend since college this summer and we're trying to figure out a coordinated costume thing, but she's going to be so busy between now and then that I don't know if we can do anything special.

I am probably staying home and handing out candy, assuming that the kids in the neighborhood don't do another "trunk-or-treat" this year.

Do what I do every year, dress in my best suit, cook spaghetti, and have the theme to The Godfather blaring at full as I eat outside my front door

I got invited to a Halloween party and I hand out candy on the day itself. I am dressing up as a porcelain doll 😊
