Subscription Billing + iOS app - Info for new subs/resubs!

STARTING NEXT MONTH (NOV 2024)

This will only apply to NEW Patreon subscriptions made through the iΟS app:

Aρρle is adding a 30% fee for you to pay with your pledge, which means subbing via the iOs app will be more expensive for you. This won't be with just myself, but with any Creator's you support.

**If you'd like to avoid paying αρρle's 30% fee:**

Consider subbing via desktop computer or through your iΟS device's web browser instead of the app. You can still use the Patreon app on your iΟS device, but just be conscious of where you're processing the initial membership transaction.

Again, the 30% upcharge only applies to new subscribers subbing through the app specifically on an iΟS device. It can also be easily worked around! I just want you to be aware of it.

^ If you use these devices and unsub + resub later, please keep this in mind.

THE SUBSCRIPTION BILLING BIT

When the changes above go into effect next month, it will also include moving the Creator (me) to a subscription billing model.

This just means NEW subscribers are charged on the date they join a Creator's Patreon and on the same date each month after that.

This new billing style will ONLY apply if you are a NEW subscriber.

Existing subscribers will continue to be charged on the 1st of each month - so nothing changes for the majority of you reading.

If you unsub and resub later, but like to be charged on the 1st of the month, simply wait until the 1st to resub.

If you prefer to be charged on any other day of the month, you now have some flexibility! Consider unsubbing and then resub on whichever day you prefer to be billed! 

^ Right now, the billing change is only applying to Creator's who choose this.

Patreon will be forcing this billing change for all Creator's in autumn 2025 in order to keep their app in the iΟs' app store.

I figured I may as well go ahead and get used to it instead of holding out for the inevitable change.
