Worldbuilding & “Kink”

Hey you,

I’m curious…

If you have original characters or built worlds around those characters, how do you justify the inevitable presence of kink/niche interests within art and stories featuring them?

Do you have a non-canon alternate version that is shamelessly self-indulgent and kink-heavy?

Or have you found a way to tastefully weave kink like vore and size shenanigans in with your world’s lore?

I absolutely love depictions of micros mingling with regular sized people. Sort of “The Borrowers” style, and really piques curiosity! It makes sense in those situations that kinks and fetishes surrounding their reality WOULD exist!

Very good points and something I’ll definitely keep in mind when working with my own worldbuilding. Having what we consider “kink” woven into the world’s lore can be very nice and almost helps to normalize it within their experience (which helps the kink happen more often!) xD

SlipperySqueaks

That’s fair xD

I really love when people create characters that have fetishes built into their canon. Reason being, it’s realistic! Real people have desires and kinks, it’s just not an area explored in most media portrayals (unfortunately).

xD I mean…if you’re going to play with magic, why not have your character (unintentionally?!) abuse it for your own er…entertainment!

SlipperySqueaks

Thank you for sharing this! I love the idea of having a world that grounds everything nicely. It does definitely make kink aspects hit harder when they do end up happening!

SlipperySqueaks

Oooh I see! That’s a really cool way to add flexibility to an existing character, without it necessarily “interfering” with anything you originally have in mind for them.

SlipperySqueaks

Hey, the straightforward approach can be very good! Thank you for sharing!

Everything I write is pretty much a projection of the dynamics of our own world (But with micros and anthros roaming around and mingling with regular sized folks and humans), so yes, kinks and fetishes exist in my stories the same way they exist irl too!

Depends on the application. For single images/roleplays/stories, I just use base kink and "This is how it is". For longer projects like image sets/comics/long-term roleplay/book series; I'd definitely use worldbuilding. Context can actually increase the flexibility with the kink itself. A guy just being able to grow? Hot. A guy being able to grow because some people have size-magic? Opens potential for other characters and entities advancing the plot, be it kinky or not. Definitely a 'As per situation' kind of deal.

I mean...pretty much anything I do is gonna be self-indulgent and kink heavy 😆 but I guess it just depends on who I'm interacting with

I’ve got an alchemist for our fantasy tabletop game. He’s cute. He’s a 7-foot nerdy dragon. And sometimes the alchemy has….results.

To me i like to ground any RP i do and make it feel like kink isnt the focus, makes it more kinky when say a dragon or an orc decides to dom someone and enforce their kinks on them. But to counter, worlds where kinks are normalized is hot too~

Chase The Hyena

Usually tastefully if I can help it. When developing characters in the setting, I will usually associate some sort of fetish with them. For instance, Danathius has a foot fetish, but Kherrox has a size fetish and a vore fetish along with it. Ideally, I'd say around 70% of the stuff I would commission would be cannon / in lore interactions between Danathius and Kherrox. It just helps ideally when deciding what role each character plays, but it also helps it to make the interactions between the characters feel more natural and them having a vested interest in the going ons of a potentially kinky scenario.

SiliconMage

if that makes sense

Smack

i just opperate within the mindset that each story, art piece, or other media featuring Smack has its own world that hasn't been explored. Like the exploring new heights Smack that is in that comic you're making has the potential to explore his more DND side than other stories/comics might. So, in short, i see each addition or story that might deviate from my characters norm as a new plot line to go down rather than thinking "this is isn't how my oc would act"

Smack

I tend to just weave things around. The biggest hint is that I usually have nothing to hide and am pretty much cards open when talking about what I like and what I don't. So people knows exactly what I'm into, what might happen and what will not.
