As I wrote in the last update, I’m working on a new project around Serrano. I have two chapters in draft now—these are relatively short chapters, like those of Big Trouble, so hopefully I can get updates out weekly once I get going. I’m not sure exactly when I’ll get going, besides hopefully sometime in February.
So, here’s the tentative plan: if I have at least three chapters in draft by Friday the 27th, I’ll let February Patreon charges go through, and the story will kick off on February 8th. I may post another status report and quasi-introductory post on the 1st. If I don’t have three chapters in draft by then, then I won’t charge for February. I’ll still attempt to make a post or two, though, and maybe kick off the story at the end of the month unless things are unexpectedly stalled.
Wait, chapters? How long is this?
Um, well. I don’t know yet. Longer than I was expecting. I’m still working out details. As with most of my projects, I’m not operating from a real outline, but I need to get the big plot points and set pieces, er, set. And, a few open questions seem like they need answers before I get much farther in the writing process. I suspect it’s going to be at least as long as Big Trouble, but not as long as Moira.
