I've always viewed the master track on Ableton as the mix bus, where I'm altering and shaping the song as a whole, but I'm not necessarily bringing up the volume of a track to the loudness levels I want, or anything like that like I would do in mastering :)

Quick question, ableton has a master track where pro tools for example does not. Essentially putting plugins on the master track as we mix means we are also mastering the song, when exporting the song thats it? or should it be mastered as a single wav file? any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
