i had this sketch laying around and thought It'd finish it, I hope you like it!
Notes:
I experimented a bit with the rendering and process for this one, I didn't quite like the process but the final result is alright.
I REALLY have to practice my rendering and study digital painting :/
Also, I don't quite like Marcus' design anymoooore. I designed him in a very experimental era and he doesn't quite fit my vision anymore hah, I will think of a redesign for him... or maybe not, because he's his own thing now, so it wouldn't be fair to change something my past self created (? IDK IDK

thank you so much for the insight! i see what you mean by representative, you can reach in and pull more from the source and make a design with a clearer intent, see what that animal inspires you to do and make adjustments accordingly! i don't think "basic" is something to avoid tho, unfortunately i think "uniqueness" is also a trap that one can easily fall into specially when focused in trying to please others, just focus on making something that speaks to you and your design philosophy

For the drawings I'd like to do his body is too bulky and big to draw easily, also I don't quite vibe anymore with this kind of body, it's too "much" IMO. His face doesn't really look like a hyena, it doesn't really look like anything really, I don't even know why I did it that way. I have been getting more into design philosophies and now I don't like when the characters don't look like nor "clearly" represent the animal they are based on. Basically what I'm trynna say is that I don't like that his design is this basic: just your typical buff anthro character that is supposedly an specific animal; without actually making a believable and interesting representation of said animal.
