The follow-up to this post...
Having been charged with "treason" by the tyrant of Cha'ra'door (for supposedly "alienating the affections" of the dancer Sayyina, who had been appointed a concubine of King Hasaphar, and with whom Iolæ had spent some intimate moments), the warrior woman was given a chance to escape her fate. If she can lift the Axle of Kratos, and hold it over her head for a count of ten, she and Sayyina would be freed and exiled from the Kingdom.
The Axle of Kratos–named for the God of Strength–consisted of two gigantic wheels of granite, each weighing five tons, connected by a thick iron bar. (As was the custom of athletic competitions and exhibitions of that time and region, she was to perform her feat in the nude.)
