Usually, I finish the art of something and then begin animating. This time, I decided to get the movement right (for the most part) BEFORE doing the actual art. As mentioned previously, I decided to play with tentacles in Rive, see what could be done with them. I could have fiddled more, but decided to post this up and get to work on Bess' Deluxe instead. I might return to this project and do more, but otherwise this is it for now.

As a "bonus", the final image is an abandoned early idea for the animation. Would it have been a more deformed Nioma?...

Quickie Update [31/8/25]

Just a quickie update, nothing fancy but behind a paywall for safety!

Hey folks! Just gonna do a quickie update before August runs out and Autumn begins!

* Work progresses smoothly on Fawn's entry into the "Pregnancy Contest". As with all Normal animations that go public, this will be relatively tame. But as you can imagine, with Fawn coming second, she will be bigger than Nicky. I hope to finish this animation in the next week, if not earlier if possible. Thanks for your patience...

And the next "Pregnancy Contest" star is... [Character Ref Sheet]

Fawn! She will come 2nd in the contest, and as such, I made a quickie ref sheet to lock down some of her attributes, personality and assets.

After a few days rest I've begun work on "Pregnancy Context" part 2, with Fawn as the "lucky" contestant. Not sure how long it will take me, but hopefully it won't take longer than two weeks. I'll keep you updated on progress!

Experiments with Rive—Weird Coin?

Edit: Another WIP added! Messing with movement in Rive is very fun. Also, Nicky's Deluxe should be done in the next few days, unless something goes wrong. I hope not!

The next experiment with Rive will be an expansion sequence. Considering all the fancy shape morphing Rive can do, aren't you curious as to what kind of expansions that can be achieved? As for who gets the honours of the expansion sequence, I wonder if the art style is a give away...

Anyway, back to work on Nicky's D...

Experiments with Rive—Janet Peter-Smith "Too Tight" Shirt Test

More testing, and who else but Janet should have the honours of being pregnant for our pleasure?

The main focus with these gifs was the belly, in particular getting fluid movement with the shirt holes. These would be impossible in my normal software, but here they're 100% dynamic, allowing for all sorts of minute changes. It takes a while to do, but worth it! As a bonus, I included a quickie kick.

Experiments with Rive—Tummy Lean + Belly Kick

Previously, I mentioned how I was beginning to feel stifled by my current animation software (Wick Editor). That feeling, along with the possibility of Wick being completely abandoned in the future, has urged me to go back and mess around with Rive, another vastly more powerful software.
