Shark Bait!

When I made the decision to incorporate my "Voluptuous Avenger" character Charlotte into the Tetsuko storyline by making her Sonya's sister (and making her an "adult model" whose projects include the Naked Justice "photocomic"), I tried to come with the story of how it happens. What's the story behind Tetsuko and Charlotte meeting for the first time?

After a couple of years, I finally hit on an (I hope) entertaining story. So i've been stealing bits of time away from my other projects to write down scenes, plot fragments, and ideas for new characters. It's finally come together in a story entitled "Shark Bait". I have enough now that when I finally do get around to actually drawing the thing (which probably won't be of a couple of years - sigh), I have the notes (and part of a script) that'll help me remember the story I wanted to tell (or, more likely, remind me of story elements I'd otherwise forget).

I don't know how much of the story to "spoil" for you here, but the picture you see above does illustrate a scene from the climax–and also puts a literal meaning to a title that was, up to that point, more of a... metaphor? simile? something like that. I hadn't originally intended to put actual sharks into the story, until the thought came into mind that there was a way to do it. And it does make a suitably dramatic climax to a story that (I think) is already pretty dramatic and suspenseful.

So until "Shark Bait" actually sees publication, I invite you to speculate: how did this situation happen, with Charlotte plunging helplessly to her doom, and Tetsuko desperately swimming to her rescue, even as sharks gather to make a meal out of both of them?

Love Charlotte’s large attributes are rising as she sinking. Woulda thought her large attributes would be more effective at floating than the concrete blocks at keeping her sinking. She is a very healthy girl.

Great drawing. As I've said, I really like Tetsuko, it's characters and it's overall humorous tone combined with the Super-heroics. It's clearly not intended as wacky satire, but it's not supposed to be taken totally seriously either. I'd be happy to make suggestions for "Shark Bait" and even work with you on finishing the script. But right now, my mind is on one of those aforementioned "other projects"-one in particular. I'm becoming very alarmed by how long that project is taking to see the light of day-which, of course, was as much my fault as yours. I'd like to live long enough to see the universe I put so much effort and creation into building with your ideas become a sensation-which I really think not only this project, but the UNIVERSE I'VE CREATED FOR IT, has the potential for. I really DO think we're on the verge of something amazing with this. I don't think I'm being a childish dreamer thinking that. I hope we can publish by year's end the absolute latest. Please check your email, I sent an important email yesterday. Again, great art and I'd love to help you once this is finally finished bring "Shark Bait" to life next! Like I said-I really like Tetsuko and Sonya overall!
