I'm looking to finish this illustration tomorrow or Friday. Heaven knows there isn't much to do outside the house, since Orange County (FL) will be imposing a "stay-at-home" order starting tomorrow night, lasting at least through April 9.
...which means Walt Disney World will be closed for at least a week past its anticipated April 1 re-opening. In fact, there's at least one Disney blogger who believes that it'll be mid-May before the Magic Kingdom opens again, and that Epcot might even stay closed for 18 to 24 months!
This is actually the thing that scares me the most, even more than catching the disease: will I even have a job when this is all over. In case you didn't know, I do (did) work at Disney World as a portrait/caricature artist. But I wasn't employed by Disney; I work(ed) for a small company (Rubio Arts) that, I fear, does not have the financial resources to survive a shutdown of a month or more.
(And even though Disney is paying its idled "Cast Members" for the time being, I expect they'll be laying off people if the situation doesn't improve quickly. With its theme parks and retail stores shuttered, and movie theaters unable to exhibit their movies, most of its revenue streams have dried up, and the longer the emergency continues, the more difficult it'll be to restore things to "normal")
...aaah, I hadn't intended to whine about my employment situation. I should look at the fact that I'll be able to get more artwork done.
...which brings me back to this preview of this month's pic. Look for it tomorrow or the next day, in SFW and NSFW versions.
This month's Q and A video has also been shot and (mostly) edited; just a few graphics to drop in and a little polishing to do. So look for that by Friday as well.
And please, stay well!
