Another piece for Art Fight 2025, this one is for belzebunny! I instantly fell in love with the unique design of this character and knew that no matter what I MUST try squeeze in a drawing of her. Here's a step-by-step of the process that I will also post a timelapse recording of!

Absolutely loved working with the storytelling in this piece! After discussing the idea with the client I suggested that I would add a small speech bubble to include a third character related to the story/scene here, which gave me the courage to exaggerate the perspective and expressions in a cartoony way. I'm not going to lie, there were so many parts of making this that are generally very challenging to me (as you can see from the timelapse, the clouds out of all things was one of them 😂) but I'm so happy that I decided to tackle them and ended up having so much fun with the problem-solving! I absolutely love drawing tropical scenes like this even though the colors are generally a bit more challenging to me, but that is just even more the reason why completing pieces like this grow my conf...

I was running out of time for all the OCs I had bookmarked for AF2025 so I knew I had to make something more simplified, so I took a bit of a leap of faith here! I'm very aware of my tendency of overthinking my drawing ideas so this time I decided to try my best to make a simple composition and pose look as dynamic as I can. It was also nice to draw a pony character after nearly a decade (I can't describe how weird it felt typing that, time flies)!

I promise next update will be the timelapses of previous month's art rewards! 😅 I have been grinding work like crazy even though the continuous thunder storms here have been trying their best to interrupt (no really, I'm actually happy for the change of weather after the heat wave!) Now that Artfight is over too I have so much timelapses and step-by-steps to post, and I have started scheduling them as my vacation draws near.

I have had so many other things to post that I haven't had time to get to the rewards from last month yet! Here's the first part of them!

As for the gummy shark design I posted earlier: I will keep the post here for the time being but I'm still owner of the design until further notice! Design sales are unpredictable and led me to decide that I want to work on it further alongside the other design I have in the works instead of posting it on my TH page just yet. ^^

Simple OC reference sheet timelapse

In contrast to the schedule given in the earlier post, the gummy shark design with the full reference sheet will be open for offers tomorrow instead of today! This was a result of the craziest thunderstorm we had today (I was too scared to use any hardware during it) and a migraine attack that kept me from getting everything 100% ready for it. Gummy shark design timelapse (+ commission schedule!)

Finished the gummy shark design and thought it would be fun to show the process! As I have mentioned before, I most often don't have a clear idea of what I want the completed work to look like so I start drawing purely based on the feeling I want it to emit. In this case I wanted the design to kind of look like the inspiration which is the gummy shark candy (or is it "gummi"? Sorry I'm Finnish lol) so I wanted it to have something sharp and vibrant to represent the blue raspberry and somethin...

Another icon commission I loved working with! 🥰 The landscape was both challenging and so much fun to draw, as I knew exactly what I wanted it to look and feel like which usually is my greatest challenge LOL. It was fun to paint this kind of "calm before the storm" kind of weather, as the lighting in it is so specific and I feel like I learned a lot while constructing the scene!

Completed spring picnic YCH (step-by-step)

Here's the outcome of the spring YCH with a step-by-step of the process! It's also a good example of how the process isn't always the same, referring to me ending up redoing the character's whole face in the final steps. Having drawn this character before, I just felt like I hadn't quite succeeded capturing their personality and knew I could do better! It's intimidating to take such a huge step so far in the process but it usually pays off.

Sorry for the wait with this post! This month is a busy one for me in personal life so I have been preparing some scheduled posts for the rest of the week. We're celebrating Midsummer in Finland this weekend so I'll be away for my PC for a bit but will be back to my usual work schedule after that. 🍓🌼 Next week I'll focus on finishing the two designs and will open a couple of commission slots for colored full body sketches (I will update the exact date and time next week!)

And the last one of last month's sticker rewards, ended up posting them separately because I finally figured out why I couldn't combine them in the video editor. 😅 I used a more chibi-ish style for this one as well (I kind of explored that style for one of the previously posted stickers too).

There's always some challenge involved when drawing interacting characters in such a small canvas but I think these designs allowed be to make most of the composition! 💛 I love drawing tails...

Posting a few timelapses today and tomorrow because I'm going to a mini vacation in Stockholm for the rest of the week so I hope the mini spam is ok!
