Bellagarth's Quest [Micro update June '25]

Hey everyone! Thought I'd throw out a quick bite-sized update on the state of progress with the game as it's been a little bit.
I do intend to release a proper devlog on all that's been completed thus far sometime this month, but this next chunk is pretty hefty and I think best presented in one big chunk to better get the concept across, so I thought a little update to let you all know I'm steadily plugging away would be a fine enough middle-ground.

Progress has been really great! I've tweaked the tower defense game to be way less bullshit, as well as a good few other fixes based on people's feedback (like the overuse of hitstop). I've also added a new enemy type that Bellagarth can hop on and use for herself:

I've also added an encounter with one of the soldiers from the very beginning of the game:

Beating him will progress the story to a key section where the real MEAT AND POTATOES of the swamp zone lies, I'm very excited to show it but it's still cooking up and I really don't want to show it half-finished, so you all gotta wait!!


Hard to put into words just how excited I'm feeling right now about the project, it kind of comes and goes in waves (as I've been learning is the way it tends to go with long-form projects).
Right now I'm seeing a story I started writing back in late 2023 as a fun "what if" really take shape so I'm incredibly motivated to keep pushing forward.
Yes, I started writing the story for the sequel to Lilith's Lair before I even finished Visca's Earth Conquest lol
