June Q & A is up... I think

UPDATE: The June 2017 Q & A can now be viewed here.

I decided this time to preserve the comments I made about the video, so here they are. (Just ignore the parts about the video being hosted at my website, since it's not there anymore.

*whew* This video was a bear! Harder and more involved to produce than the previous ones, even though there was only one question!

Yeah, it was the post-question "Creating the June Pic of the Month" part that was the most challenging. Since the screen-capture videos of the process (recorded during the actual creation of the drawing) had no audio, I was faced with the choice of a) showing it silent, b) setting background music to it, or c) recording (separately) audio commentary describing the salient points of the process. Naturally I opted for d) audio commentary and background music.

...probably not the wisest choice. Laying two separate audio tracks to the silent footage in iMovie bogged down my system to the point that playback dropped out portions of one or the other audio tracks. And although the finished mp4 file plays beautifully from my hard drive, after uploading it to my website I haven't been able to get it to play in my browser; preloading enough of the file to play is extremely slow, and I have to stare at my own ugly mug for minutes at a time! It's a 1.93 GB file, but that can't be the problem, since all of the Q&As I'm hosting on my site are over 1.25 GB (with the March edition weighing in at 2.55 GB!), and I haven't had any problem with playback on those (that I can remember).

I'm glad to hear you were able to watch it!

One thing I will say is, I very much appreciate this. I would love to see more of videos of your creative process and the transition from sketch to lineart, flats and to full shading. I always enjoyed seeing how artists do it and it was very enjoyable the way through. You edit the video with a perfect speed and some nice music to help boot it. I wouldn't mind seeing more of these in the near future for any of your next works. It definitely inspires me more to try and go into digital drawing since I'm still trying out sketches right now. Hehe maybe I might even attempt to draw Tetsuko. Great episode and keep up the amazing works!!
