Chapter no.326 Creepy Files part 1

The five Pokémon alongside Green seated around a small table, each with a stack of chips in front of them. Lucario, the tallest of the group, sat at the head of the table with a calm and collected expression on his face. Pickachu, the smallest of the group, sat to his left with a mischievous grin on his face. Ditto, sat to Pickachu's left and had an expression that he is going to have a mental breakdown any second. Scizor, the largest of the group, sits to Lucario's right with a stern expression on his face. Green, the only human in the group, sits to Scizor's right with a determined look on her face.
The dealer, a Fearow, shuffled the deck of cards with his talon and begins dealing out the hands. Lucario and Pickachu both seem to be enjoying themselves, chatting and laughing as they place their bets. Ditto, on the other hand, seems a bit nervous, constantly glancing at the cards in his hand and fidgeting in his seat. Scizor, meanwhile, remains stoic and focused, making calculated bets and studying his cards intently. Green seems to be taking the game seriously as well, placing her bets with a confident demeanor.
Even before the game had started, the tension in the room began to build.
The Pokémon and human players are all leaning forward in their seats, their eyes locked on the cards in front of them as they place their bets. The room was thick with tension as everyone tried to outsmart each other and come out on top. Suddenly, a loud snore fills the air and everyone turns to see Yellow, sound asleep on the leg of Austin, who was reading a few files on his laptop.
The other players exchange glances and let out a collective sigh of relief as the tension in the room dissipates.
" Come on, continue that game," Green exclaimed as her eyes were on the prize of the money in front of her.
" Hey, Ash wants to join ?" Green asked while Austin glanced at the Burnett and simply answered.
" You do realize that all that money that you're playing with is mine."
" Oh, don't be such a stick in the mud. What's yours is mine ?" Lucario said before hiccuping.
" I think you're drunk," Austin stated the obvious with Lucario showing him the middle finger in response.
" .... " Austin rolled his eyes at the drunk aura Pokémon as he knew green is going to clean that table one way or the other.
" Hey, ask Yellow if she wants to join," Green asked as Austin slowly nudged the blonde psychic.
"Come on, Yellow, wake up," He said, trying to gently rouse her. "You're going to miss out on all the fun."
Yellow stirs and rubs her eyes, looking around blearily. "What's going on?" she asks, her voice thick with sleep.
Austin grins and ruffles her hair. "It's just a game of cards, Yellow. Don't worry, you can join in if you want."
Yellow nods before falling back to sleep on Austin's leg which had already gone numb.
The players return to their cards, and the tension in the room starts to build once again.
Austin meanwhile clicked through the files of Jessie's mother, Miyamoto.
While from his meta knowledge, he knew that the woman chased after Mew. The files he had been given from the Boss of Team Rocket, courtesy of Porygon.
As Austin went through the files relating to Miyamoto, they were seemingly arranged in alphabetical order, starting with something named: A2-AnimatedGod and ending in XX5-ZMoves.
Most of the files started with label A2 but some of them had different labels.
There was another folder relating to Miyamoto that had two distinct pictures; one of a lone flower in a vase and the second was a picture of a large painting on a wall
The painting was wide like one of those wallpapers you expect at a museum.
Austin stared at the painting while thinking.
Pretty sure my brother would consider this a piece of art.
Not only just in the literal sense, but the painting looked like it could have been made by Michelangelo or Da Vinci. Two Pokémon were painted in Renaissance style on the canvas, one colored steel white with blue and the other Pokémon colored gray with shades of pink thrown in.
They were locked in a standoff, the blue one standing on the ground and the pink Pokémon flying in the skies.
They say that the purpose of art is to convey an emotion, if that's true then this piece certainly did its part. A blind fury was in their eyes like they were ready to tear each other to pieces. I could almost feel the rage they felt myself.
The two of them were standing in red-colored city ruins with torn-down skyscrapers setting off against the blood-red sky. A shiver ran over my spine.
There was this painting in my world, a painting of Cronus devouring his son which coincidentally is also the name of the painting. It was a disturbing piece of art that a lot of people called one of the most terrifying paintings.
The painting right in front of me gave off that same feeling, a state of madness was in the eyes of the two Pokémon and it seemed to burn a hole through the canvas.
I drew my gaze away from the painting and closed the weird file and went to check on the rest.
Suddenly a document caught my eye. It was named: 'Introduction letter to the God's Project Team.'
" Hey, shouldn't we feed those two ?" Green asked pulling my attention from the file as I turned to her but Lucario beat me to it as in his drunken stupor the aura Pokémon exclaimed," Hey, how would chocolate and ketchup and mustard and spaghetti and.... ?" Lucario crashed onto the table as the sound of his snores filled the room.
" First never let that old man drink, I never want to hear those food combinations again and Pickachu stops thinking about creating that abomination, or I will ban Ketchup in this house," Austin exclaimed causing Pickachu to visibly gulp and nod hurriedly as if he was at gunpoint.
Austin turned to Green and said," Don't worry, I am sure those two can survive not eating for a few hours. They say the best decisions are made on an empty stomach."
Green raised her hand slowly before Scizor placed his claw on Burnett's hand and slowly brought it down.
Green frowned a little at not being able to voice her opinions as the treatment they were giving Jessie and James seemed eerily similar to the hell she experienced at the hands of the masked man and this didn't sit well with Green.
" Green."
Hearing the sound of Austin calling out to her, Green replied with an annoyed tone.
" What ?"
" There is takeout in the fridge. You can heat it and give it to Jessie and James." Austin said before going back to the intriguing file. Austin seemingly missed the loss on Green's face as she gazed upon his back.
' Thanks for being better, Ketchum.'

[ Omake Paragraph ]
Although they appear harmless, the leading cause of forest fires in Johto was once not Typhlosion or Houndoom, but Cyndaquil. It is thought that, unlike their evolved forms, this is because Cyndaquil is unable to control the flames on their backs, although some have viewed it as a deliberate manner to burn out and cook food, albeit one which comes at a high price. This has made the survival of young Cyndaquil difficult, and not solely because of humans; most predatory pokemon (and some who are not) are prone to killing and eating wild Cyndaquil, not for taste and nutrients, but to protect their habitat from deadly fires.
Attempts have been made to domesticate the Cyndaquil, mostly for their cute appearance. They are docile in captivity but have been banned by many cities for the same reason, especially cities made of wood. Although they're making a comeback in captivity these days, for trainers are better at handling them and towns less flammable than before, anti-Cyndaquil laws often remain on the books, and their repeal is resisted by fire departments everywhere.
Indeed, some villages such as New Bark Town have passed these laws recently, spurred on by nearby fires and fear-mongering campaigns. The next day, Professor Elm gave his Cyndaquil away to a young trainer and started him on an amazing journey.
