Chapter no.305 Team Rocket's Requirement Schemes

When Green opened her eyes again, she was in a bright place that has the size of a football stadium. Approximately, 80 or so people were either standing or laying around her.
Looking back to Austin, Green found that the trainer was touching the floor while having his eyes closer.
' Aura is with me.'
Austin shouted in his mind as his aura expanded out covering the entire base before projecting a mental image in Austin's head as he opened his eyes with a sigh.
" What happened?"
" It's nothing, this isn't the main team rocket base by the way."
" Isn't that a good thing?"
" I suppose you could see it that way." Austin replied as Green looked around before whispering something to herself.
" This looks exactly like that bastard's place."
" Did you say something ?"
" No, it's nothing."
Hearing Green's reply, Austin knew that she was remembering her time under the Masked Man's trails which according to her words was just like this place, where the Team Rocket will perform the Rookie's Test.
Austin thought, " Team Rocket is trying hard for this rookies test. Is this how it gets done every time or, is it due to the current supervisor of the test?"
Green also tried to get in touch with others for information but found that the people here were very guarded.
About 10 minutes later, the people from Team Rocket finally arrived.
Team Rocket members wearing black uniforms with giant R symbols painted in the front swiftly walked out of the gate. They rudely expelled people on the edge of the room and then arranged them and the rest of the Rookies in a very orderly manner. A few seconds later, a beautiful blonde woman came out of the entrance. She looked about 25 years old. She wore a Team Rocket Admin uniform that explicitly showed off her figure but none of the 100 rookies looked at her
pervertedly. Well, probably because she had a thick, deadly aura around her.
"Welcome, everyone. My name is Lisa. I am the instructor of your group of recruits. I hope you can all listen to me. I will never say it a second time. Bring me the Pokémon." Lisa said in a loud voice.
As soon as she finished speaking, several Team Rocket members quickly brought out a few large suitcases and then placed them on the open space in front of the podium. A large number of red and white Pokéballs were neatly arranged (150).
Austin thought: "There is a maximum of 100 people here. So why are there so many more Pokémon than people? Probably so that everyone can choose their optimal Pokémon without pressure. The test is pretty fair so far."
"I won't talk any more nonsense. As you have seen it, this is the initial benefit that our Team Rocket gives you Rookies. Go, choose one Pokéball out of them. But remember, you cannot release the Pokémon inside. And once you choose, you can't replace it." Lisa spoke again
When it was Austin and Green's turn to choose, there were only around 60 Pokémon left. Austin and Green were one of the last ones to select the Pokéball.
Alex stepped forward and saw through the name tags that the Pokémon, which were available to choose from:
Rattata, Spearow, Zubat, Koffing, and
Ekans.
" Hurry up, you two!" One of the team rocket's shouted at Green and Austin who immediately grabbed onto a PokeBall.
Green picked up the PokeBall of a Zubat meanwhile Austin picked up the PokeBall of an Ekans.
"Well, since you all have selected Pokémon, you can release them now and try to conquer them. You have 7 days for this, and the first 10 people to do this will get generous rewards. The faster you are, the better the rewards you will get." said Lisa with a playful expression.
When Lisa was talking, Austin and Green, who were in the crowd, noticed the members of Team Rocket who surrounded them. The faces of these people were humorous, watching the rookies with interest.
Narrowing there eyes, Austin and Green felt something was wrong.
"Rattata, use Tackle."
"Ekans, listen to me. I'm your trainer now."
"Spearow, we'll be friends from now on.
Ok?"
"Koffing, use Tackle."
After hearing the words of the Instructor Lisa and the rewards, most of the Team Rocket rookies' face showed ecstasy.
These people thought that they are smart enough or charismatic enough to impress the Pokémon.
Lisa's words had poured oil in the fire.
Feeling a dangerous aura coming from the PokeBall, Austin immediately clasped Green's hand and ran from the sight of the Team Rocket members who released their Pokémon.
Many rookies trusting their gut ran from the Team Rocket roomies.
These Pokémons that came out of rookie's Pokéball, they first looked around. The orders from the rookies were ignored by them.
For a time, the scene was pretty embarrassing. Facing this situation, the faces of those rookies who were formerly full of confidence couldn't help but show an expression of embarrassment or surprise.
Austin could feel from their aura that these Pokemon's were not normal. If anything he would point that these Pokemon's aura seemed broken like they had lost their will to life. They weren't living things rather they were machines.
Looking at the crowd of rookies and remembering Lisa's words it clicked in Austin's mind.
The people from their clothing, behaviour and demeanor showed that they were either druggies, homeless or desperate people.
Team rocket recruit such people and gave them abused pokemon so these people could learn how to control weapons. They didn't want people who would love pokemon rathe they wanted people who could wield the weapons given to them.

Branched evolution is not unknown to the pokemon world. Even in Kanto, Slowpoke and Gloom can evolve in multiple ways. But these lines involve two evolutions, while Eevee has eight known as of this writing, with more likely to be discovered in the coming years.
Eevee has therefore been the subject of intense research, most of it funded in the hopes of a grand discovery of how pokemon evolution works. Team Rocket in particular funded studies so intense that the wild Eevee in the region were virtually all turned into lab rats for experiments, as Giovanni hoped to unlock Eevee's secret and use it to create powerful armies of evolved pokemon which had never been seen before. At this task he failed completely, but his creation of an evolution-changing Eevee led to some answers, and many more questions as to just what this pokemon was. Theories abounded comparing it to the formes of Rotom, or the myriad of Unown shapes, but none of them could account for why this could have developed into a permanent change.
Today, as further experimentation has discovered little, most of the Eevee captured by Team Rocket have been sold off, some for the power of its evolutions, most because their appearance made them coveted as pets. Some have been murdered, as their strange evolutionary prowess has led to a surprisingly large number of people considering them a crime against nature which must be extinguished. Sadder still, many have resorted to abusing their Eevee to prevent them from gaining the happiness needed to evolve, citing the difficulty of caring for their evolutions or simply a desire to keep them cute and fluffy forever.
