Fallout Equestria Update: Chapters 15-25

Hey Everyone!
If you're new and you hopped in the patreon because of the Frontier vid, this is a little series I do on here where I talk over my reading of Fallout: Equestria, a fanfiction I am going to make a video on (after the other one im working on atm). This covers chapters 15-25. 

What I thought

I continually worry about the video because i've yet to really *get* it. Nearly everything i've said in the past updates continues to be true. The protagonist has some cool character moments but the side characters are lacking. The romance stuff is janky at best and uncomfortable at worst. BUT! I do have some cool things to talk about.

Specifically, I want to go into more detail about lore. Not the fallout lore, mind you, but the my little pony lore. I mentioned in the last update that the best example of the fic using established my little pony characters was pinkie pie, but I no longer think that's the case. They're all good, actually. Surprisingly good. One of the things I found the most cool about Fallout: DUST was the inclusion and lore surrounding the courier and what they were up to in that story, and many of my same compliments apply here. The story sets up the idea of a ministry, which is pretty much exactly what it is in 1984 lmao. Ministry of technology, ministry of peace, ministry of image (propaganda). Each one of these ministries is headed by one of the main characters of the show, and the development of both these ministries and their leaders is surprisingly interesting. So far the story has generally failed to grip me, to get me interested in the world or the characters beyond their surface charm as "my little pony in fallout lul" but this is actually kinda good. I dig it, even if it is derivative.

This part of the story leads the characters to fillydelphia (the naming conventions in this story are something I want to get into in the video) but this is interesting insofar as the protagonist gets thrown in the pitt dlc from fallout 3, but the pitt raiders are also the unity from fallout 1. Strange mashup and i'm interested to see where it goes. This is also good because finally the main character has... a goal? A reason to do what they do? There's a structure, is what I mean.

There are several other things here I want to go into that I might go into in a later update but so far this has been the best of the story. Lots of actually intruiging plot bits instead of go-here-kill-loot-next place. I'm hoping to get the next video out in a week or so and then the equestria vid shortly after that but I am always off of my own schedule so don't hold me to that okokok thanks for reading thanks for supporting me I hope you look forward to this mess of a video whenever it does actually come out. 1-2 more updates, maybe a final conclusion one after that.
