Angel 3x17 - Early Access & Full

Ooh so things went a little differently to what I expected and the ENDING. Hello?! Definitely unexpected 🙀 They sure do like to keep us on our toes...

I hope you all have a lovely week ahead! It's been pretty hot here this week so I'm trying to keep cool ☀️

Angel 3x17 - Early Access & Full

POOR WESLEY! Admittedly, this could have all been avoided if he just told people about the prophecy! So he was kinda asking for trouble 🤣 but it's just terrible and frustrating. He's such a smart man, and he was just doing what he thought was right, but it really was the wrong move. You have a wonderful day yourself, Mr Neil 😊💜

Yep, I agree!! Even if he just told ONE person, Cordy, or something.... GAH

YES! So true!!

YES!!!! Oliver, what an amazing point you raise. Sometimes I think we tend to forget that Angel has real and valid emotions, including the negative ones like rage and anger. Just because he is on this path to redemption and is trying to make amends, doesn't mean he will automatically forgive someone if they wrong him. LOVE this! Thank you!

As I watch this season together with you for the first time, the ending was also surprising to me, but before the ending I also thought, that Angel's reaction would be far too unrealistically noble, if he just forgave Wesley's betrayal because of his good intentions. I think it's intriguing to see from time to time that it's not exclusively Angel's demon side that is violent. Why should a vampire with a soul be "better" than a regular human? Ok, remorse is a good motivator but there are other feelings too.

Oliver

Any good intent that Wesley had is muted by the fact that he didn't mention the prophecy to anyone imo. To this day, I can't think of a compelling reason for Wesley to keep the prophecy a secret. If the prophecy is true, then kidnapping Connor is not going to prevent it anyway and Angel has the right to know about it. If the prophecy isn't true or if it has a loophole, then telling Angel about it is the best way to protect Connor.

To paraphrase the Master from season 1 of Buffy: 'Prophecies are tricky things, if you hadn't come, I couldn't go.' Even the true(?) prophecies in the Buffyverse have loopholes.

Much like yourself I remember being utterly shocked the first time I saw that ending! I love the way it fades to credits as Angel is yelling "You're a dead man! Dead! Dead!" Sends shivers down my spine! I also loved your reaction to realising that the guy wasn't in fact helping Wesley, but was instead dumping him in a bush. "Hey, get off his money!... Please get help for him!... Hang on!... What the hell! You've just put him..." 😂 Thanks for another excellent reaction Juliette 💜 Have yourself a lovely day.
