Doctor Who 5x12 The Pandorica Opens - Early Access

Okay, hear me out... THIS episode is probably one of my favourites! It was just SO good, SO many unexpected things happened... And that ending?! Dissolving into silence as we are left on one of the most wonderful and exciting cliffhangers... WOW. What an amazing journey this series 5 has been!

I am SO excited to watch the next episode.... I adored this one so much 💜

I REALLY WANT a Van Gogh exploding Tardis painting!!!!

Doctor Who 5x12 The Pandorica Opens - Early Access

Comments

Nope. Speculating based on existing information. If I was gonna spoil, I'd spoil HARD. :-)

Martin Holt

@ The Dog Whisperer: It is not. Not for Juliette, because she already saw the conclusion. Not for anyone else because it gives nothing away. Thank you for your concern, I am very careful about spoilers.

Oliver

@The Dog Whisperer: this is obviously about this episode.

Oliver

The Christmas special is a full episode. Minisodes/Webisodes are short, e.g. 3-10 minutes in length each. In this case, I looked them up again. There are at least these two (which go together): "Space" and the other called "Time".

The best theory I have found about Rory came from Just So Shayla. Now, I'm not going to tell you about her theory. What I am doing is, posting a link to Shayla's YouTube reaction of The Pandorica opens so that you can decide for yourself if you want to know about it. Shayla talks about her theoy at 7:50 ish mark of the episode https://youtu.be/VyjUhNdo1_w?si=5p4VJreC8-8icFuM

Are you spoiling a potential future episode or scene about Captain Jack?

The Dog Walker

Im familiar only with the xmas special. Might be wrong...

The Dog Walker

Are you spoiling a future episode?

The Dog Walker

Quoting dialogue from a future episode is a spoiler. Please remove this comment.

The Dog Walker

This episode was incredibly dense - so much so that it was easy to miss what Dorian (the big blue guy) said about the Time Vortex Manipulator for River. Namely, where he got it from - hacked from the wrist of a 'handsome time agent.' Maybe a handsome ex-time agent from the Boeshane Peninsula who just happened to travel with the Doctor. I wonder who THAT could be.

Martin Holt

I remember when I saw this on broadcast and it absolutely blew my face off.

Keef Baker

Agreed! This was a phenomenal finale but 10 still tops it for me. Honestly, there's only one finale that I don't like, the rest range from at least good to amazing.

Joel Featherstone

I didn't look like you recognized the "Romans" here so ill let you know, they are actually plastic "puppets" controlled by the Nestene Consciousnesses which was the same foe the doctor faced way back in the very first episode you watched! Season 1 episode 1. Back then in was the window shop dummies and they used the exact same hand guns and everything. I always enjoy that throwback.

Geo

I'll save my main comments for after the next episode because there's still a lot to come, but, as for the piece of the TARDIS just remember... "people assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a nonlinear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey ...stuff." Really, can't wait for next week now.

The Rising Ape

We've got to stop the Doctor! Buuuuut, every time we try to kill him our people die instead. You know what we have done a bunch of times though? We've briefly captured the Doctor sooooo many times. What if we figure out a way to capture him so that he can't escape? I love this plan!

Nebraska

The number "5145" at the beginning was just the year 🤣

OverWims

this episode gives such magical fairytale vibes with a sci-fi twist!!

NNC

This comment would read more like an essay if I touched on everything I want to here, and nobody wants that, so I'll just say that THIS is what you call a good episode! Thanks for another excellent video Juliette. I can't wait for next week's reaction!

Neil Hanson

My take on that piece of the Tardis the Doctor pulled is that he pulled it from a crack in the universe. The cracks are happening specifically on 26/06/2010 but are rippling throughout all of time, so when he reached into it, he was reaching into 26/06/2010 if that makes sense. They did actually get permission to film at Stonehenge (very rare) but had very limited time there during the very early hours of the morning (hence why there are very little daylight shots). They were not allowed to touch any of the rocks, so any touching or standing on stones were either manipulated to make it look like they were touching, or false stones that were added by the production team (or filmed offsite and made to look like they were at Stonehenge during close-ups). That ending when the music stops is so eery, but so epic at the same time. Excited to see the conclusion to this one.

SeeJay

Yeah, it was EPIC! Just when I think I can't love the show more... they've really outdone themselves with series 5!

Juliette Gaming

Dave, I hope tomorrow is a MUCH better day for you 💜

Juliette Gaming

It was SO GOOD seeing characters from previous episodes! I don't know how to explain it, but it makes me feel that ALL the episodes and characters that we've met are important and shouldn't be just forgotten after we've watched it!

Juliette Gaming

imo this is the best finale 2-parter in the show, maaaaybe tied with series 10 but we're a long way from that yet. That entire sequence at the end never fails to give me chills

Wojo

Had a really rough day watching this reaction of my favourite episode helped me forget reality for a hrs thank you looking forward for next week

Dave

I feel like series 5 is so well connected, I love how they brought back Vincent and Churchill! It makes it feel so epic. And I love to see Rory again! No spoilers but part 2 is amazing 😁

Beth

"Now, this is where it gets complicated..."

Oliver

Just a note. This is obviously the 1st episode of a two parter. Note that there are a variety of webisodes after that (I seem to remember somewhere on the order of 3-5).

jsm

I got one at the Who-exibition in Cardiff, but there are also affordable posters in Australia for example: https://www.zingpopculture.com.au/product/wall-art/241974-doctor-who-exploding-tardis-van-gogh-slot14-poster

Oliver

I got an exploding tardis picture from etsy :)
