I hope you all had a lovely weekend! It was uneventful for me on Saturday and I wish things stayed that way as Sunday was NOT GREAT! One of those days! Hoping for a nice week ahead though, starting with tonight and a lovely homemade lasagne 💜

The forest and village scenes in Pylea were shot at Ventura Farms, a ranch located in an area called Hidden Valley near L.A. It is used extensively for TV and movie locations. The village itself was originally built as a Mexican village movie set and has been used as such in a number of shows. It has been redressed as a medieval village and now as a trans-dimensional one. Over 100 extras were used in the village and castle scenes with extensive makeup. Since on-screen extras who have dialog have to be paid extra, they were instructed to be silent and the crowd noises were dubbed in during post-production to save money on salaries. Of course, the persons actually doing the fighting scenes are stunt people and are paid as such regardless of dialog. During two scenes in the village, there is an ox being led through the street. The director said the animal was very cantankerous and they couldn't use him as much as they would have liked. During the lead up to Cordy's off-screen torture, Silas, the evil priest, picks up a cone-shaped instrument and threatens Cordy with it. It was a Christmas tree topper ornament. Joss Whedon , the show co-creator with Tim Minear, has a couple of cameo appearances in the final 2 episodes. See if you can identify him.

Hope you have a great week to make up for it! I spent the weekend completing the Elden Ring dlc for the second time. I think I may be a little obsessed. The Cow, ooops, I meant Cordelia, definitely had a rough start to her Pylea visit. Although it did seem to have improved somewhat at the end there. Still, not the place you want to be if you're human though. Poor Fred! She's been stuck there for years now! Some great funny moments in this one. Angel and Wesley pinching each others cheek in the car, the little shuffle walk the Gunn and Wesley did when their ankles were shackled, and Wesley proclaiming "I think we're winning!" during the big fight scene only to see them all tied up the very next moment 😂 Thanks for another great video Juliette. Very enjoyable as always.
